LocalSend!
Works flawlessly, on windows, linux and android (and others) and you can send files, folders, text, or eadily paste your clipboard.

+1 for KDEconnect
Seems to work much better on Linux than it does on Windows, in my experience.
I already installed it, you don't need to sell it to me so hard!
I wasn't selling KDE Connect to you, I was selling Linux to the other people that might overhear, lol.
OP was joking :)
Well, it was built for KDE, so I'd hope so.
My phone and computer can occasionally see each other through KDE Connect. Never when I actually have a use for it though.
Another one for KDE Connect. https://kdeconnect.kde.org/download.html It works on everything. Linux, Android, Windows, macOS, iOS, SailfishOS(?). I use to to share files from phone to my laptop, laptop to Steam Deck.
LOCALSEND
It's an app for your phone and another app for your computer. Works good. It's how I do it. Uses wifi I think
Localsend!!
KDE Connect has an app for Gnome too (GS Connect) so lots of flavours of Linux can join in. Brilliant way to sync your phone to your PC in every way.
KDE connect works great with Linux. You can easily put stuff on and get stuff off your phone.
First, buy a domain. Then, set up a server, then a hypervisor on the server, then set up a reverse proxy, punch a hole in your firewall, set up MFA, set up a container, install docker, set up NextCloud using a docker-compose, set up accounts and a client on the devices... Simple!
Don't forget setting up a second instance, UPS, and health checks with automatic failover and load balancing.
And off-site! Don't forget that!
Localsend has been really well considered. Only wish is that it recognized links and opened them in a browser automatically
Also KDE connect but I just learned you can send more than one file at a time through it.
Kde connect is also available in windows
Just use Telegram Saved Message feature and send files to yourself This pipeline works for me since it was released
There are already mentions of LocalSend (i use it for smaller stuff), Syncthing (for keeping folders synchronized, i use it to keep Wine prefixes between my Pc and my Steam Deck up to date) and KdeConnect (I use it for Clipboard sharing); I also use Copyparty, which runs on everything that allows python to run (so pretty much everything) and handles everything from single files to folders, up- and download, drag&drop support, serving mediafiles and so on, with lots and lots of features. give it a try!
syncthing was new to me. i found it pretty intuitive to set up and am now an enjoyer.
Syncthing!
I use Signal's "note to self" conversation. Since you can install the desktop version of Signal on basically any OS, it is almost perfectly cross-platform.
Syncthing or Resilio Sync for regular, instant, no-fuss between devices you control.
I use Syncthing-Fork in my phone (has more flexible sybc conditions) to keep specific folders in sync.
I use Resilio Sync on my file server just for the Selective Sync feature, which enables me to easily grab any file from the server from anywhere.
+1 Syncthing-fork Started using it a few months ago to sync notes between desktop and phone. Since it's just a synced directory ive also used it to copy other files back and forth quickly
KDE Connect. You need to be in the same network. But it's clearly the easiest and most useful.
I use Syncthing for this; it syncs directories on my phone and computer, so to put something on my computer from my phone I just put it in that directory. I share my camera roll so my pictures are synced with my computer.
If you just want a "send this file" application, warpinator might do that.
Airdroid? Provides a WebUI to browse your phone, send and receive files, and e. g. write SMS if you're into that.
I second KDE Connect, it makes life a lot easier
Croc
FTP Server option of Solid Explorer. Works great on Home Network
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agrEOg7X0c0
Works also with Windows Explorer
Phone to computer and back, I always use tailscale plus any file manager.
You can also self host it: https://github.com/schlagmichdoch/pairdrop
if you have the app/feature on both devices, QuickShare.
on Linux, there's RQuickShare, which lets you use QuickShare on Linux
I find the scp command to be extraordinarily powerful for never having been taught anything about it in school.
