At this point, we need a socialist revolution.

Long time coming
I couldn't find the vid released in Canada. I did find someone that read a transcript of it. Not sure how long that will be up before youtube trump suckers pull it down for bullshit reasons.
It's on torrents though.
I grew up poor, and was always too chickenshit to risk my PC on downloading. Watching a stream is always something that felt safer to me, so it's the first thing I look for. Although after some more searching, I found the internet archive version of it. I posted it on lemmy world news.
It is funny, because streaming downloads to your computer as well. It just doesn't save the file.
Thanks for your service!
Nobody goes after torrenting in Canada, it's effectively legal (not actually, but it's difficult to get a conviction, and as a result is not enforced). Essentially, if you're not making money from piracy, they don't care.
Is this it? I haven't got to watching it yet, but it's supposed to be. Apologies if I was misinformed.
Edit: forgot the link, https://archive.org/details/60minutes-cecotsegment#reviews
Also it seems someone posted it below, so I think it's correct.
‘Dear Americans, we have a functional government and you don’t. Figured we would rub it in to make ourselves feel smug. :) -Canada. ‘
... Its incredible to me that you managed to frame this as Canada somehow being the assholes.
No, us Americans are the assholes, for every moment we sit around and cry on the internet about how much this sucks... and not actually fucking do anything about it.
History will look back at us, correctly, as a bunch of dithering, pontificating, self-victimizing cowards, if we don't actually do something to end the Trump administration as soon as fucking possible.
The entire Western world is financially, economically and geopolitically oriented around us, our military, our currency. We were the hegemon.
Every moment that Trump and his ilk are allowed to do the insane shit they are doing, where the broader US people are not forcing him out of office, will be remembered as a moment the US population was broadly in tacit compliance with all this geopolitical version of a temper tantrum, thats causing at least hundreds of thousands of direct, uneccessary deaths, and trillions of dollars of economic destruction, around the world.
Canada has every right to be ... not even smug, they're not smug, they're just trying to point out that we seem to just be fine with having all our rights stripped away, because the way this works is, if we weren't, we would actually be doing something about it.
We are the assholes for not stopping this right the fuck now.
Dear Americans. You voted for it. We rejected our far right politician. We can be smug. Suck our Canuk dicks.
Canadians were ready to vote in the conservatives until trump pissed them off. Instead Canadians voted in a party headed by a banker who'll also financially raid the country but with decorum.
Dear Americans, we have a functional government
I feel comparing yourself to the US isn't a fair standard.
They have every right to do that and we deserve it, because our government is fucked and our citizens think voting is enough.
Voting is enough actually, you just don't do it for some reason, and now you have to do something else. And if you managed to screw up voting, the easiest thing there is, my hopes are quite low.
I mean half don't even vote... So...
our citizens think voting is enough.
We now go live to the DNC headquarters

Meanwhile, in half of the country:

Wasn't america pro freedom of speach? crazy
It's just what they call propaganda over there.
That's virtue signalling. The right does it a lot while accusing everyone else of it. Very typical.
In my opinion, what may have happened:
Trump lackey found out at the last minute about the segment and ordered it pulled. But said order did not get to Global either due to lack of communication channel, incompetence or malicious compliance(oops we/I forgot to tell them).
It ran on Global. Canada's answer to Fox News and based out of Alberta. They are extremely pro-US and if any mainstream Canadian TV network was going to force pro-Trump content, they are at the top of that list.
Global isn't Canada's answer to Fox News. Canada doesn't have a Fox News.
Also, did it actually air on Global? From what I heard it was available on their app. That's more plausible because it's a different pathway. Instead of just simultaneously airing what's being aired in the US, they have to break it up into different segments which they load up on some CDN.
No what happened was the segment was at the finish line when it was pulled. It was fully edited, it passed legal, it was on the schedule, then the billionaire plant running the network pulled it at the last minute
It didn't get pulled in Canada because it was already ready to go, the video was already sent over and everything, and the ruling class here is incompetent. It was an oversight, exactly the kind of mistake that happens over and over
...okay but I hope you can admit that while Global news is the Canadian mainstream news media equivalent to Fox News, that there is a huge difference between the two. I'd still consider Global news as reputable a source as any other mainstream Canadian news broadcaster. Whereas I don't consider Fox News to be news, journalism or anything other than propaganda and entertainment.
Yes. That said, they are extremely biased and anything on oil and gas, labour, government, or US politics I will use them as an initial source to go off and fund a viable source from.
I view them as propaganda first, news second.
Global is not like Fox news at all, what are you talking about? Your description matches Rebel News though.
Im OOTL
A 60 Minutes segment about CECOT was pulled from the air in the US but aired in Canada, supposedly by mistake according to US news outlets. It covered the horrible treatment, abuse, and wrongful detention of prisoners there, which apparently the US news corps didn't like
EDIT: It's actively being removed from YouTube when people post it - you can watch it on the Internet Archive or on CatBox
for anyone else who missed the context:
CECOT apparently means Terrorism Confinement Center, a maximum security prison in El Salvador: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism_Confinement_Center
someone shod post it on xvideos
Seeding it.
