So, he’s starting wars so he can have checks notes a peace prize……?

[–] Greddan@feddit.org 31 points 1 month ago

I mean Machado got the prize for her advocacy for war, so it's more of a war prize to begin with. The Nobel peace prize has been a joke for a long time. Norwegian must have drifted too far away from Swedish so they can't understand Nobels will anymore.

[–] Bonifratz@piefed.zip 18 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You got that all wrong. He ended the US-Venezuela war! I'm sure he'll end the US-Greenland war next!

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

. . Because Congress told him to cut the shit.

Of course. “Peace through strength.” It only works when you force it on people. I’m sure I’ve heard that somewhere.

[–] kmartburrito@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He's been saying this the whole time! You know, if you ignore the whole war thing externally and the ICE terrorism internally. 100% peaceful. He IS peace. Well he's definitely A piece.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Whole lotta dipshits, some of them supposed leftists, but probably a whole lot were Russian trolls/bots, were parroting that shit since 2015/2016 time frame. "Hillary is gonna start WWIII!!!!1111ELEVENTY!!! I'm gonna vote Stein or for Donnie! HerpaDerrrrrp! "

Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity.

[–] hume_lemmy@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

Peace of the grave, maybe...

Not quite. He started a war to kidnap the dude who made fun of his stupid dancing.

Machado is trading the peace prize for presidency.

Just sort of a lucky coincidence or something. Or the universe hates everyone.

God knows what he thinks people will give him for invading Greenland.

[–] CarbonIceDragon@pawb.social 1 points 1 month ago

I suppose the rate at which nobel peace prize winners start wars is probably quite a bit higher the rate at which non-nobel-peace-prize-winners start wars, if only because that prize has been given to a few heads of state that have gone on to do that, while most people simply don't realistically have the capacity to start one if they wanted to.

He still won't be a Nobel Peace Prize winner...

He'll just be some guy a Nobel Peace Prize winner donated her trophy to so she could be chosen as the next leader of Venezuela by the US.

[–] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 20 points 1 month ago

No, he'll be a guy who swindled a Peace Prize winner out of her trophy. Trump has no respect for such a sniveling toad as she turned out to be

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sure, he will. Just like he won that FIFA tournament.~/s~

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 weeks ago

How does he give her Venezuela when the current administration is still there? I don't even think she is popular amongst Venezuelans anymore, if she ever was.

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 43 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He's such a fucking man baby.

[–] Nomad@infosec.pub 21 points 1 month ago

He is demented, very far gone. His handlers enjoy that the peoples focus is somewhere else while they rig the system to collect the next 100 billion dollars.

[–] meme_historian@lemmy.dbzer0.com 43 points 1 month ago (2 children)

If Machado really wants to cement her legacy as a nobel peace prize recipient she's wearing a bomb to that meeting

First ever double Nobel prize winner

[–] AfricanExpansionist@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 month ago

Yeah right... She a fucking worm

[–] Jumbie@lemmy.zip 35 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This should definitely happen. The history books will never be erased and it’ll be the highlight of his pettiness.

“Machado, fearing for her country and her life, appeased the notorious child molester by sharing her Nobel Peace Prize under duress. It did not help. Using ICE, he murdered more US citizens and attacked several other countries before dying on live television from a heart attack.”

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

“. . . before dying on live television from a heart attack.”

Dear Internet Jesus, i has a new wish.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 1 month ago

I don’t understand why people still read billionaire Jeff Bezos’ mouthpiece

[–] JoMiran@lemmy.ml 15 points 1 month ago
[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He does know that's not how nobel prizes work, right?

I think the 21% of the functionally illiterate American adults are mostly in his base, so I'd think they don't know much of anything.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

They know what stories Fox news has told them over the last few decades.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 4 weeks ago

Oh, without question. They seem fairly apt at parroting back those stories, too. This doesn't really require literacy OR logic, as you know.

It's why you'll see some of the same people claim two things that not only have zero evidence for the claim in isolation, but make zero sense when taken together, such as:

  1. The J6 terrorists were actually "the deep state" and/or "antifa" and/or BLM, AND
  2. The J6 terrorists are actually political prisoners and Taco was right in pardoning all of these terrorists.

Both of those stories have been told to them by Bullshit Mountain, they didn't craft these stupid narratives themselves.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

In the upside down you get a peace prize for terrorizing and murdering your own citizens, threatening to invade your allies, and invading other non-aggressive countries.

[–] manxu@piefed.social 3 points 1 month ago

Does he want the medal or the million dollars, though?
