Come to Quark’s, Quark’s is Fun!

General off-topic chat for the crew of startrek.website. Trek-adjacent discussions, other sci-fi television, navigating the Fediverse, server meta (within reason), selling expired cases of Yamok sauce, it’s all fair game.

Here's hoping he gets stuck in the pattern buffer.

Here's hoping he is jettisoned out an airlock

Here's hoping Picard and Riker both phaser his head at the same time so that it explodes in a shower of gore and then never mention it again

Musk deserves everything O'Brien suffered.

To the Botany Bay, sans the cryo freezing.

Elon Harkonnen Wants To Make 'Star Trek' Real Without Everything That Makes 'Star Trek' Great

[–] DoucheBagMcSwag@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 months ago

He wants Stargate.

Not star Trek

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

He wants to be the Grand Nagus of the Ferengi Alliance, not the President of the Federation.

[–] madjo@piefed.social 6 points 2 months ago

These right wing weirdos have no media literacy.

He doesn’t want Star Trek, he wants Starfleet.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 15 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Terran Empire.

Starfleet did have its problems, but anything involving humans is going to. Associating with humans was the most illogical thing Vulcans ever did. I guess the strategy was to have the insane on their side so they could watch them closely.

Or Cardassian. Or Romulan. Both were fascist.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

When I say Starfleet I mean he wants the technology. He wants transporters and replicators and holodecks and photon torpedoes snd phasers, not the wisdom and maturity it takes to use that technology properly.

Which is exactly why the Prime Directive was set up. And I'm a believer in the theory that we are apes that, for various reasons, evolved certain abilities far faster than other primitive characteristics could keep up. We're like toddlers with things we shouldn't have.

He wants something more kin to The Expanse I feel.

He should wear a red uniform more often and go on field trips.

[–] jontree255@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

He must be talking about the WW3 part

Waiting on the Bell Riots.

Four months overdue, I'm afraid.

Second time in the past few days I've seen someone associated with the mess at the top referencing (inappropriately) Star Trek, and how we're gonna make Star Trek real.

Is this further proof that it's MAGAmount now, and Paramount is feeding this shit to our overlords so we'll watch Starfleet Academy's premiere this week?

[–] Cyberflunk@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

He also wants to fuck babies on a pile of dead black people, billions buy anything

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

How about he make FSD work and the hyper loop work first?

[–] ideonek@piefed.social 1 points 2 months ago

"Star Trek seemed to say it wasn't good enough that the real world was such an insane contradiction, with prejudice being instantly transmitted across the planet by fiber-optic cables. Cavemen taken great distances by things they could never have created themselves. We were kinda halfway to Star Trek in 20[26]. We had the ships, but not the crew."

[–] fox2263@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Probably not the best episode to reference.

I sure hope he does take a trek into our star. Its beautiful all times of the year. Like the tungsten in an old lightbulb... White hot, but much hotter than that.
