I toured the Frank house in Amsterdam in the late 2000s. I couldn't speak for a while afterward. But I told myself that it could never happen in the US.

I was very, very wrong.

Make some room in your attic.

This is the main reason I'm not more publicly politically outspoken. As a white man I have great camouflage, and as a homeowner I have an attic. Who knows how soon I might need to take advantage of that?

There is no hmm here(not criticizing the post location), the US is way fast critical thresholds. Other countries are not going to save you either.

Do not let this pass.

Literally as I was reading this, I thought the commentary was about ICE doing its evil.

~~Anne Frank was a time traveler, yo~~

This was posted on Reddit a while back and was inundated with thousands of Nazi-esque comments. Op was banned from reddit shortly after. They can say it was for something else but the timing seems like whatever reason they would give would be an excuse to silence anything not right wing.

Crazy even she noticed all that happening while being blind AND deaf...

[–] turmacar@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Do you think Anne Frank is Helen Keller?

[–] Crozekiel@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That is the joke, which I shamelessly stole from Clerks II.

I'm kinda amazed that nobody got it. Granted I had to go back to figure out where it was from. I was convinced it was family guy. Great movie that showcased Crash Test Dummies are more than mmm mmm mmm

I had hoped to talk about the lack of quality beastiality in everyday life.

Have you become so embittered that you feel the need to attack the handicapped?

[–] Crozekiel@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What "handicap"? He's just in a wheelchair.

[–] DougHolland@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Why, that's "handi-capable!"

[–] Gathorall@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Are you so embittered it has made you illiterate?

I recently remembered I own the book, "Man's Search for meaning" if anyone is looking for another book on the subject. Shit will break your heart, but it's important we remember the lessons

Similarly, Neighbors: The Destruction of the Jewish Community in Jedwabne, Poland by Jan T. Gross.

So horrifying and heartbreaking what people can do to their own neighbors, but it's important that we know that people can do these things to their neighbors.

Big recommend here, but my copy has actual teardrop stains on it after reading.
