An unofficial chapter of the popular Dull Men's Club.

https://dullmensclub.com/

1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of "discuss" rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This is not a search engine
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with "So" - starting a post with pointless phrases, like "I hope this is allowed" or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I think the second is shorter. Still looking.

The differences one can make out in these high resolution pics is staggering 😂

This is the content I'm here for!

Next time better use a 30° cycle instead of a 60° cycle, then you are sure that it won’t shrink

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 18 points 2 months ago

You added water, that's quite the feat.

Oh, just woke up after my after-cleaning-coffee-machine nap. As you can see, the clean was indeed needed. The machine was very dirty before this.

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Yeah, after that much work I can see a nap being in order

Dude is living in ancient Greece with all that marble! 🏛️

I've got a Delonghi Magnifica, and cleaning that super-automatic beast involves a trip to the shop table where I strip the sides out, pull out as much of the innards as I'm ambitious enough to do, then blow all the shit out of it with the compressor. Maybe replace a couple o-rings if it's leaking at the boiler again.

But I don't mind, that machine has given me something like 40,000 shots, maybe 50,000 at this point, I haven't checked the counter in a long time. Had it for almost 15 years now I'd say.

It owes me nothing. I love it like a member of the family.

I wanted a Magnifica for so long but I can't justify it because I drink decaf and the wife drinks half caf. Don't want to buy/maintain two of them...

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I think the new Evo isn't as rough to maintain as the old one I have. I actually had two and I'm cannabilizing the second for parts, replaced it with an Evo. It seems fine, I wish it had the display of the original. It doesn't seem to get as much grind through the innards as the old unit.

Yah, unless you want to use the ground add hopper every time to add the caff grind for wife, it might not be worth it. We aren't too picky, whatever's in the beans hopper is good for us.

I really like my Breville Oracle Jet because it's pretty trivial to clean. It's still super easy to use, but the more traditional build makes maintenance nice.

Oh no, your coffee machine shrunk! 😱

Rick Moranis strikes again

[–] tpihkal@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Missed a spot.

[–] mycodesucks@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Newbie mistake... you need to air dry it or else it shrinks.

This photo screams "male equivalent of Crazy Cat Lady"

I thought you only did that with fish.

[–] blx@piefed.zip 5 points 2 months ago

Oooh I cleaned mine today as well. Dull minds think alike!

[–] faizalr@fedia.io 4 points 2 months ago

Cleaning is good to be honoured.

Life is too short. I don't even have a sophisticated palate, but great coffee can be enjoyed with very little effort...

[–] papalonian@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Life is too short

Maybe that's why they aren't spending it on making fancy coffee 😉

[–] BootLoop@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago

Did you just carve out your kitchen out of a block of marble?
