I have been thinking about this is for a while now.

My teeth's have always been crocked(overbite here) and I have been always conscious about it. They yellowish(especially the four lower front) and not equal sizes(some look like they are broken)

Recently I found out that my adult tooth grow under my mild tooth even though I am in my 20s. I got the millk tooth removed and the dentist said that the adult one will move into place in a about year but its still at the back of the other teeth for two years and I kept rubing it with my tongue and its driving me crazy.

He did say that I can install braces if it doesn't move into place and I just don't have the money for that. Instead I looking to get it removed altogether.

But this is not a mouth anyone would wanna kiss

It seems to be a family isue, with most of family(especially mom) and my other relatives having dental problems

Mom herself have been having teeth installed and its costing us months and months of rent

I keep thinking that this is my fault for not brushing twice a day or after every meal or whatever but I genuinely think that this is something only a dentist could have prevented.

CW: Sexual stuffI was looking at the mirror, at that adult tooth and thought, it would be painful for anyone who's dick I am sucking as I scrap their dick.

Despite good brushing and flossing, I had to get braces at 15 for spacing. My brother had similar but less severe spacing. You are not at any fault- you simply lost what I call the "genetic lottery".

You might be able to find a program, non-profit or dental college that can provide braces at a reduced price. I also know many of my friends as adults who had success with Invisalign (I don't know the cost).

Anyone who truly loves or cares about you will not think your teeth are a deal breaker. People's teeth are not picture perfect or blindingly white without some degree of cosmetic work.

My teeth make me feel like aristocracy.

Me when I was 20

Slight crossbite, and slight crowding, probably because I've still got my wisdom teeth.

I think I have a deep bite

Didn't know there was a word for it: deep bite. I've always just called it over bite. I've also got one baby tooth; it never fell out because there was no adult tooth behind it.

Me too! baby tooth front bottom.

I've also broken some back teeth because I bite too hard.

It's certainly not because you don't brush enough. However, you should take care of your teeth. Having to get them drilled and filled won't make you feel better about them.

Teeth also aren't really meant to be white, so don't sweat the yellow tint, unless it's because you're eating a lot of Cheetos without brushing. Then you should brush.

My wife's teeth are pretty crooked from the pushing her wisdom teeth did before they got removed. I think her smile looks great. It's not like anyone other than her dentist would care.

Regarding the other issue, I'm not going to kink shame, but it's generally considered a faux pas to use teeth in that situation.

Edit: since you asked:

My teeth are shit. I think it's probably because my right-wing-nut father believed that fluoridation was a communist conspiracy, so growing up we only drank spring water, then when I moved, I moved to an area that doesn't add fluoride to the water. I didn't start using a fluoride rinse until my 40's.

(Yes, he voted for the pedophile, and yes he believes everything that secretary brain-worm spews)

Last year when I went to the dentist, there were three cavities. One of them on #2.

#2 developed a dent from a wisdom tooth pushing against it. When the wisdom tooth was removed, the dent was exposed. That was followed by 10 years of the dentist warning me that it might develop a cavity. Then it developed a cavity, so it was drilled and filled.

A cavity on the back of the back molar is absolutely brutal to fill for the dentist and the patient. It took over an hour and we were both worn out completely when it was done.

The new cavity on #2 meant it needed a crown, however the cavity was under the gum line, so it needed a "Crown Lengthening Procedure". Google that if you want to have nightmares.

The procedure actually wasn't as bad as the pictures looked, but it meant around seven months of never chewing on that side of my mouth. Also, when the dressings came off, that tooth let it be known that it didn't like having it's undercarriage exposed.

Now I still can't chew on that side because something doesn't feel quite right.

The next time that tooth has a problem, I'm just going to have it pulled. I'm sick of dealing with it.

Thanks for reply,

I wanted to ask people about how are their teeth in general but mess it up by putting the image at the top, so everyone assumed I meant how are their teeth structured rather how they feel about them.

Regarding the other issue, I'm not going to kink shame, but it's generally considered a faux pas to use teeth in that situation

I meant that it would be harder for me to keep my teeth's from scraping the other person' s with my tooth due to it's position behind my teeth.

Either way, it's not like I am playing to do any sucking, just a thought that occurred to me

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 15 hours ago

Normal. Also won the lottery of not needing to have my wisdom teeth removed.

[–] inlandempire@jlai.lu 4 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

I think I'm halfway between "Normal" and overbite? My top teeth go in front of the bottom ones when I fully close my mouth, but not as much as in the drawing

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 3 points 16 hours ago

I think mine might be overcrowd, maybe. Hard to tell. Pretty sure I have a tooth that's kind of in front of the others with a tooth behind it, not having the space to align right. No dentist has said anything about it, so I assume it's okay, especially since it hasn't caused me any pain.

I would show a picture, but I am absolutely uncomfortable showing a picture of them to strangers for seemingly obvious reasons. That, and I couldn't fit my phone in my mouth to show what I mean. It barely fits, and yes I tried after writing that comment.

I have an overbite, even after years of braces. I also have severely impacted wisdom teeth; them shits are straight sideways. But they don't hurt or bother me so I ain't tryna get 'em pulled.
