I love American Standard Male clothing. It's so ugly and must be humiliating to wear. Baggy work shirts that look like shit. Floppy ass boxers that don't hold your junk up and serve no purpose other than maybe preventing your pants from smelling like ass/balls (American Standard Males apparently hate intimate hygiene). Office chinos the color of cardboard, baggy and tight at the same time to make your legs look carrot-shaped. Shoes and baseball hat must be worn at all times, including indoors, in bed, during sex, while pooping, and possibly even while showering at this point.

The leg warmers are cool because it's taking an item that already exists and repurposing it for an American Standard Male audience, so it needs to be uglier, less comfortable, more humiliating and will slide down your legs because wearing things that fit your body is feminine/european coded.

If you’re masc and you’re wearing it, it’s masc clothing. See also: Mark Bryan

AS A MANLY MAN I rather wear a miniskirt and fishnets

[–] hellinkilla@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

contrary to mainstream consensus, this makes sense due to testosterone causing people to run hot. miniskirt and fishnets is an inherently masc style frequently appropriated by women.

but if you are in a very northern winter climate, maybe underneath your fishnets, you have something like this to keep from frostbite.

we have "long underwear" for that

[–] hellinkilla@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago

Waffle + fishnet = texture clash

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

NO. I WILL GET FROSTBITE . I WILL DIE VIA HYPOTHERMIA. BUT I WILL LOOK GLORIOUS WHILE WEARING A MINISKIRT AND FISHNETS

thighhighs with the boxer-brief elastic band looks really fucked up to me even though logically it just does the job fine. but it looks like AI failed at drawing underwear

RETVRN to longjohns, free me from this charade and end this nightmare.

What do y'all mean it's freezing? Just wear season appropriate clothing.

[–] mickey@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

$20 will get you a pair of polyester long sleeve top + bottom base layer out of China! WTF are we even doing here bruh?

I use ski underwear

So probably the same but with dumb guy tax

[–] mickey@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

FlakesBongler is probably asleep so just imagine I replied with Ned Flanders in his ski suit saying it "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all!" and Homer Simpson thinking "Stupid sexy Flanders."

::: spoiler probably bad/shitty/exclusionary take

I dont want "masculine" thigh highs. I want them to femme/cute/girly as fuck. Guys can wear them, ofc, but I want that article of clothing to remain girl-coded. No compromise, make the men embrace their femininity.

[–] hellinkilla@hexbear.net 7 points 1 week ago

A strap and a layer away from chaps

[–] Sulvy@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

Looks comfy and warm that’s all I need

[–] alexei_1917@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Great. More talk about Linux and "programming socks"... Now I want thigh high fuzzy socks with penguins and polar bears on 'em... not girl-coded, just cozy and warm and perfect for winter...

Remind me of knee sleeves when your knee aches and its too warm for thermals. I love the arm ones you see basketball players use, those are nice when its humid. Pretty sure I'll need spray-bottle if I see a dude's inner thigh.

On me no, I'll just use thermals if its cold and pretend they're meggings and laugh while I'm warm and everyone else around me is cold and doesn't know the secret is to nod at 1890's longjohns but upgrade yourself to the body fitting sleekness of modern thermal attire.
