But Stieler also noted: “Stage performance does not equate to industrial robustness, yet.” He said what the robots did was the result of being trained for a routine “hundreds or thousands of times – you could not just tell them to change direction or do something completely different”.

ah yes, industry, that sector where doing the same thing with precision is shunned in favour of doing something completely different every time, i am very smart

the display should be viewed through a lens of state propaganda

Lmao. Do they say this about any expos in the West?

[–] huf@hexbear.net 41 points 2 days ago (2 children)

no no no, that's advertising and it's different morshupls

[–] SmithrunHills@hexbear.net 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think I get it now. Capitalism is when advertising and thus, not political. Communism is when state propaganda and is thus political. That makes sense izutsumi-idea

[–] huf@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago

yep, only the government can be political, nothing else.

Of course not! As we all learned from liberals, nuance is when you say you dislike both sides equally but you still stan for one over the other.

No more worried than we should be about the dog robots that are for rescue operations and definitely won't be packed full of explosives by the pigs but also you get charged with assaulting an officer if you disable one.

you could not just tell them to change direction or do something completely different.

Yep, only robots that are like that, sorry, only Chinese robots are like that, as we all know, no human has ever needed to practice and rehearse something before doing it.

I'm surprised they didn't try to push a "child cruelty" claim on that performance, trying to say it was dangerous for the kids to dance with the robots or something. Probably because the actual performance was adorable, and it's hard to blindly hate China that way, seeing cute kids play with robots looks cool as fuck, those kids are living the dream of like, every kid ever.

"How worried should we be?" is the new "But at what cost?"

[–] ExotiqueMatter@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 day ago

"How worried should we be?"

every media outlet owner should be absolutely terrified by the dancing communist robots. like existential, cosmic horror. they are here to usher in an age of destruction.

"i own no profit-driven media platform, but i must scream for the rentier class."

Good thing humans don't have to do rehearsals before a performance, or be trained to do their job. If we did, we'd really be in trouble.

On the other side: what other option is there than that this is rehearsed and planned ? Is there anyone in the world that thinks that the robots spontaneously did this?

[–] spudnik@hexbear.net 9 points 1 day ago

Is there anyone in the world that thinks that the robots spontaneously did this?

Yes! And that's why it's so scary! You never know when they're going to bust out some killer moves and then you'll get served! thurston

Can't wait for the west to be poor compared to China.

(Shit, I am living in the west. Why mom, why? )

[–] vovchik_ilich@hexbear.net 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Can't wait to see in 15 years the Chinese media portraying the decrepit west shooting the people trying to escape its borders.

[–] Lowleekun@hexbear.net 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Shit, haven't even thought about that. On the other hand I hope for a system change faster (naive I know). Probably gonna end up in jail anyways once I refuse to participate in any coming wars.

[–] vovchik_ilich@hexbear.net 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Will we send each other love letters from jail?

[–] Lowleekun@hexbear.net 6 points 1 day ago

Culturally, the wait is over

[–] Strayce 10 points 2 days ago

USA robots can do this, you just need to find a kung fu master to wear the suit.
