Last month, the federal government bought a warehouse next to her cheerleading gym in Surprise, Ariz., which the administration plans to convert into a detention center for up to 1,500 immigrants.

Ms. Bradley, the co-owner of Woodlands Elite Cheer, said she worried that a detainee could escape, or that protests could break out. The children who train at her gym are as young as 3 and could see “people in shackles” next door, she said.

So it's more NIMBY and not so much concentration camps are bad in general.

Think of the children! No, not the incarcerated 2 month old criminal. The poor cheer squad who has to witness dehumanizing abuse in our concentration camp next door. Can we put up some walls or something?!

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 26 points 1 day ago

She's concerned kids will see the reality she supports.

Lets see, I DO want to know non-white people are suffering, but I don’t want my kids to see it. Why is this so hard??

Tap for spoiler/s

We blocked it in KC and the developer abandoned the sale! Huge victory. Someone else could still try to make it happen here, but they have some big hurdles.

Fuck ICE (and Mark Alford who tried to get the ICE prison here)

They are concentration camps. Warehouses are not for people.

they don't consider brown people "people",

Depends on what you consider people. I'd argue that a morgue is a corpse warehouse. But regardless yeah no unless you are dealing with a Katrina level shit storm and need to house as many people as possible because the environment itself is trying to kill everyone nobody should be kept in a warehouse like this. Fuck even by shitty American standards the Japanese internment camps at least had barracks and eventually proper housing.

“That’s a scary thing for a little kid to process,” Ms. Bradley said.

Yeah, it's a little scary for the children being detained too.

“That’s a scary thing for a little kid to process,” Ms. Bradley said.

fuck this woman. This is what kids are drawing in her concentration camps.

Welcome to the resistance

Stacy Bradley voted for President Trump because of his border policies, and she likes that he has restored “law and order.”

She only opposes it because the warehouse is next to her business and she doesn’t want people in chains to be within her view. This bitch is still a shitty racist.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

MAGA NIMBY. Ok with concentration camps, they just don't want those people in her neighborhood.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago

"They were supposed to move them OUT of my neighborhood, not move them IN!"

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Stacy Bradley voted for President Trump because of his border policies, and she likes that he has restored “law and order.” But she is unsettled by one aspect of his immigration agenda.

Stacy Bradley’s a complete fucking moron.

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 14 points 1 day ago

And to add, what fucking law and order? He's literally covering for pedophiles (including himself) making sure they don't face the law, and hasn't faced punishment for his criminal charges.

Armed larpers are patrolling the streets kidnapping people, sending them to other countries without trial.

A government propagandist was shot at a college. (rest in piss)

Big protests are happening in all major cities.

What order has been created? If anything the USA is in much more chaos (not enough if you ask me, but that's a different talk).

[–] RunningInRVA@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

And her concern is that children might see detainees in shackles and that’s “hard to process”. Get a life lady.

Cunt.

That's a good one.

[–] doug@lemmy.today 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don’t really care what Trump voters think. I’m well past that. They are fundamentally morally-corrupt individuals.

In this case, the enemy of my enemy is my enemy’s enemy. Nothing more.

In this case, the enemy of my enemy is my enemy’s enemy. Nothing more.

Always has been. Sometimes my enemy's enemy and I want the same thing for a little while.

Holy shit, a Schlock Mercenary reference in the wild. I think I've only seen once before, also on Lemmy. Probably you, I'd wager.

[–] SaltSong@startrek.website 1 points 7 hours ago

Might have been. But there are dozens of us.

[–] Omgpwnies@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I miss that comic, it was a good one.

I miss that golden age of webcomics.

"Some Trump Voters"

This makes me very depressed
