Rules
The rules are subject to change, especially upon community feedback.
- Discrimination is not tolerated. This includes speciesism.
- Topics not relating to veganism are subject to removal.
- Posts are to be as accessible as practicable:
- embedded images of text require alt-text
- posts with an image of text should have a transcription in the body or alt-text
- paywalled articles must have an accessible non-paywalled link;
- use the original source whenever possible for a news article.
- Content warnings are required for triggering content.
- Bad-faith carnist rhetoric & anti-veganism are not allowed, as this is not a space to debate the merits of veganism. Anyone is welcome here, however, and so good-faith efforts to ask questions about veganism may be given their own weekly stickied post in the future.
- before jumping into the community, we encourage you to read examples of common fallacies here.
- if you're asking questions about veganism, be mindful that the person on the other end is trying to be helpful by answering you and treat them with at least as much respect as they give you.
- Posts and comments whose contents – text, images, etc. – are largely created by a generative AI model are subject to removal. We want you to be a part of the vegan community, not a multi-head attention layer running on a server farm.
- Posts linking to Twitter/X or any similar site will be removed.
- No brigading, either off-site or on-site. An incitement to brigade includes two elements: a call to disruptive action and a specific direction outside of this community in which to take that action. Exceptions include:
- Calls to boycott.
- Calls to in-person protest of a government, high-profile individual, or company/organization.

I have marked it as NSFW, but I do not agree. This is not that much graphic that it needs to be blurred.
Understandable. It's not shocking to me personally as someone who's seen documentaries, and I don't give a flying fuck if omnivores who pay for this find it offensive. Rule 4 is there to look out for the vegans who are here to share their lifestyle with other vegans and don't want constant visual reminders of the industry's horrors they're already all too familiar with. Ultimately, I think an online vegan community's mission to sway hearts and minds is at most equally important to the one of providing a space that normalizes a vegan lifestyle. The image to me looks like three or more animals being restrained and raped, so I think Rule 4 fits.
The number of people I've ever talked to who didn't know that cows have to be artificially inseminated to produce milk, that they just don't do it perpetually, naturally, is disturbingly high. As is the number of people who don't seem to care when they find out.

You can't say you're against bestiality while financially supporting it at the same time. Otherwise you're a hypocrite.
Meat eaters are unbelievably good at being hypocrites though, and they are hypocrites about being hypocrites too.
100%, we just need to make sure they understand they are accountable for the victims of their "personal choice".
Fortunately, lots of them can understand that and decide to align their actions with their views.

The masturbation of cows is so Sickly Wrong! Even if it was not sickly wrong, how could someone actually do it? Heard again how cows are kept in pregnant, so they produce milk , in a trying to be funny movie I watched last night, about a diehard/serious Vegan-Living Earth & All Living Beings Health Barista. First time I have ever heard a non-Beings Rights-documentary movie to point that fact out.
