There is a solution to this microslop thing that is super easy for them to implement. Iโll solve their problem right now. Remove any and all copilot garbage from the OS. All integrations, all in program bots, everything. Not โturn it off if you wantโ. Remove it entirely.

Probably because Mac marketers never thought of it. Their whole marketing strategy during the 90s wasn't even about what Macs or PCs could do but that cool people liked Macs and only middle aged business men liked PCs. Despite most of the games that weren't on both platforms being on the PC side and Macs being the overpriced underperforming one (which IMO is the opposite of cool).
Iโm pretty sure Appleโs marketing team didnโt come up with โMicro$oftโ more than a decade before the first ads with Hoffman and Justin Long in them.
That one was just as popular with windows users back in the day, or at least the groups I ran with.
Windows 12 is to be a mixed AI and Subscription model service.
That turned out not to be real reporting and reputable outlets covering it retracted the story, but I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to decide its a great idea

i personally think it was real: it was a controlled "leak" to test the waters (or to prove to the executives to change course), and when the reaction was so predictably overwhelmingly negative the executives maybe woke up a little?
Don't forget the windows 360 cloud thinclients they are now selling.
It won't work, but the C-Suite will have their primary objectives met - it's got AI and Subscription, what more could anyone want?
