Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Yeah, they're right. The Iranian government is by no means benevolent, but the US and Israeli governments are just straight-up murderers, no nuance to be had.

Those Lego hands need to be smaller.

They aren't wrong.

America really seems evil these days. Not even just on a political level.

Almost everyone I know is basically like a fentanyl zombie from consuming American culture. Zero critical thinking... Barely thinking.... Just consuming... Just following the thought plan to become another canabilistic crab in a barrel and claiming it's an authentic and genuine human experience. Pawns growing this monster bigger.

And it's spreading to other nations.

America is the abuser in life that you cut ties with and never see again. ...if you can even get away.

I find America today to be very relevant to the whole problem surrounding the Ring from LOTR.

The Ring gives a very particular variant of superpower. While it does enhance what you already have, it also gives you power over others. It's a very useful power - rather than convince someone to do what you want, you can use the Ring to make them do it. And they'll love it! This power is so useful, in fact, that it's hard to give up. Someone else could use it for evil, so you obviously need to keep the Ring on your finger, right? Only YOU know how to fix the country, because everyone else would be a moron or evil otherwise.

If the Ring existed in real life, someone could use it to raise an army, overthrow Citizens United, and institute true democracy. Or a dictatorship, because idiots caused Citizens United to be formed in the first place, and they can't be allowed to do that again. Right?

Trump looks like a Ringbearer who let the power go to his head. And the lesser Rings are held by the people in Congress and the SCOTUS.

I mean, Trump is known for a love of gold objects, maybe he bought some old antique ring at some point? And it is a miracle that he's lived for long as he has, considering his diet and lifestyle...

Well he sure looks like fucking Gollum, so...

[–] JayK117@aussie.zone 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[REDACTED] is Golum now in my head and there is no way back. He's a murderous weasel that should have stayed in a cave.

"We forgot the taste of bread, the sound of the trees, the softness of the wind. We even forgot our own name.Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Donald J Trump, President of the United States of America"

I teach in high school and most students are amazed at how bad living in the US looks from the outside.

Student debt, medical debt, car-centric city planning etc etc

I like classic hip hop too.

Being aware of all of this, and watching it all happen in real time, is a fucking curse

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 3 points 1 week ago

Seems? These days? Was it ever not? Not in my lifetime at least

I'm not sure when exactly it was generated, but they missed out on having Trump in his baseball hat for the receiving of remains.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah.

I don't really know much about producing AI video but I do know that with generative AI complex scenes or layouts can be extraordinarily difficult to achieve.

Like you can do "soldiers carrying a coffin with a flag on it" and you can do "trump standing in a baseball cap" but putting the two together with trump in the background can be very difficult.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

You just edit the AI video. You don't need an AI to do the editing.

[–] Branch_Ranch@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thanks, those ads in OPs post were ridiculous.

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I actually couldn't see the video in the linked article. Maybe my ad blocker got it.

[–] Branch_Ranch@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Halfway through and I was already at 3 ads. I use firefox and unlock origin. 🤷🏼

I do as well and no ads in the video. Weird!

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl -1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Got a link on a service that everyone can view?

[–] fizzle@quokk.au 2 points 1 week ago

No, do you?

Best use of generative Ai so far.

[–] hammertime@lemmy.org 19 points 1 week ago

I mean, blow up a school full of kids and you deserve it.

I think Lego will sue Iran soon.
