The information the president receives tends to emphasize U.S. successes, with little detail about Iranian actions, one official said.

Each day since the start of the war in Iran, U.S. military officials compile a video update for Donald Trump that shows video of the biggest, most successful strikes on Iranian targets over the previous 48 hours, three current U.S. officials and a former U.S. official said.

The daily montage typically runs for about two minutes, sometimes longer, the officials said. One described each daily video as a series of clips of “stuff blowing up.”

The highlight reel of U.S. Central Command bombing Iranian equipment and military sites isn’t the only briefing Trump gets about the war. He’s also updated through conversations with top military and intelligence advisers, foreign leaders and news reports, the officials said.

We know during the 1st administration he wasn't getting fully briefed. For christ sake, it had to be mostly pictures with many pictures of himself.

This will always be a problem for authoritarian regimes. Doesn't matter if Trump, Putin, Xi Jinping, Hitler etc. There will come a point at which people are to scared to speak the truth around them and it will affect how well they can run their countries. The fact that Putin's war of aggression has taken him over 400 times longer than he expected is just one of many examples for this.

Putin and Xi Jinping aren't dictators they are leaders of glorious communist countries.

No .ml? Must be sarcasm.

Within Trump’s Make America Great Again movement, however, support is overwhelming: Self-identified MAGA respondents gave a 100% approval rating for Trump, with 90% supporting his military action in Iran.

No new wars! America First! Fuck yeah!

[–] GreenBeanMachine@lemmy.world 22 points 4 days ago (1 children)

WOW 100% of Trump supporters support Trump.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago (3 children)

I think it’s to show the fact that those people have got nothing that they asked for, the lying is not at all well-hidden, and yet they still support him with a fervor that is often not considered worth very much in polls and the like since 100% can be an indicator that the surveyed person didn’t really pit much thought into their response.

[–] DomeGuy@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

100% of self-identifying MAGA supporting Trump still means mostly that those who don't support him anymore no longer. Identify as MAGA.

[–] Soup@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

MAGA is the cult name, so yes that makes sense. Once you leave the cult the whole thing kinda falls apart. You can still be a piece of shit, but will at least not support Trump(the lowest bar and not deserving of much, if any, respect).

They've got 52% of what they've asked for, and counting. Trump is delivering on his hateful, fascist agenda.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

Well, there's a big overlap with white fundamentalists.

It'd be hard to find a population of more gullible rubes than those glossolalic snake-jugging racist sisterfuckers.

You can't shame the shameless, and you can't understand the rationale of the irrationally mentally ill.

[–] null@lemmy.org 19 points 4 days ago

He's come a long way from reading the header and immediately ripping up the report.

[–] Yerbouti@sh.itjust.works 16 points 4 days ago

He doesn't have the full picture on anything. Check out how Stalin died if you want an idea on how people act around dictators.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago

Do you think this man has ever requested information about strategic objectives? Supply lines? Cost benefit analysis? Of course not, he wants to watch big explosions that make him feel strong in the hopes that Iran's government will pay him personally tribute and offer themselves up to be tortured by him because he's so strong.

He doesn't understand war.

[–] Infinite@lemmy.zip 13 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I'm sure using TikTok as a format for governance is safe because he's not an impressionable child.

lol splodey clips

[–] limonfiesta@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I think it's shameful that everyone here is attacking him just for being in tune with Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

It's been reported that even in his first term he ignored intelligence briefings and even when he did attend them the then competent advisors around him had to dumb it down to a picture book since he didn't like written reports.

Now with Whiskey Leaks in charge of things, did anyone think that it would be better this time around?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

Even if they told him everything, it is more than questionable whether he "got" it.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I wonder when the rest of the world gonna get tired of his bullshit and do something about it instead of just treating him like an unstable drunk uncle.

At this point I have no confidence my fellow Americans will ever do something about it. I feel like most of us are just trying to wait him out and I’m not sure that plan will work.

What can we conceivably do? They have a gigantic military industrial complex, they've addicted our populations to their social media drugs, they have all the resources they could ever hope for and the means to take more by force. Just one or two countries making a stand wouldn't be enough, it would have to be a concerted effort by the rest of the G20 and more to sanction the US and I just don't see that happening, particularly when the risk is they will retaliate with military force or join forces with daddy Putin or Trump's "Bored of Peace" evil dictator club, then what?

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 5 points 4 days ago

What difference would a briefing make? He's too stupid to assimilate the information, even if it's framed in doggy-doggy, horsey-horsey terms.

[–] Aussiemandeus@aussie.zone 6 points 4 days ago

Ironic that these dams headlines were about putin a few years ago and Americans laughed

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 3 points 4 days ago

Iran has total control over SoH, and total control over the economic survival of GCC allies of US, and of their access to drinking water, which would be certain to get both population and military of those countries to Khadaffi their monarchies, and regime change their way to an alliance with Iran.

While his plan to give 5 days for Iran to surrender without compromise is DOA, it was done to avoid "unleashing hell" on global economy. Before the threat to Iran energy infrastructure saturday, there was the perfect Friday plan: Declare victory and leave, and let the world figure out how to open SoH. Very easy for the world to do.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Lol, this pedo isn't getting a full picture of anything. His brain is toast.
