Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

got no idea what a smut is but..... honestly...... erectile dysfunction fetisist.... i kinda get it. kinda.

but more in a cutie kinda way and less in a "woah this so shmeggsy" kinda way.

smut is erotica, porn in prose form, sex on the page

[–] tr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

so it’s just a different word for sex stories?

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

oh! but then why does it sound so... bad while its actually like-.... u know- softer than what most cornsumers cornsume?

It doesn't sound more extreme than porn to me, but I don't know what you associate it with.

[–] tr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

softer

Don’t underestimate text

dont worry, im not underestimating--

also there's never enough farting/queefing. pretty much every time I've had penetrative sex, no matter who tops or which hole we used, some air got pushed inside and came out with comical effect, either during or right after or both.

tbf, omissions are less egregious, as text only includes what is relevant, not every little detail. If it doesn't ruin the moment or contribute something important to it, why bother mentioning it? What is more telling are details that shouldn't be there.

The worst part about virgins writing erotica isn’t that they omit the awkward parts - it’s the bad anatomy. No, no you cannot force a penis past the cervix and into the uterus.

I know a hentai artists, who draws fallopian tube penetration a lot. But the settings are generally surreal and don’t care for realistic anatomy. (Definitely also contains eye and ear penetration; and once somebody taking a still connected eyeball into their mouth)

Well I'm sure it's possible (if length allows), why not?

Might as well jam it in her eye for all the enjoyment she'll get out of it.

And maybe call and ambulance as you've surely damaged something.

“It’s lower than you think,” ”it doesn't have to hurt the first time,” and “orgasms don’t work like that,” all spring to mind as obvious tells when a virgin is writing smut that aren’t awkward parts of sex.
