That is a black bear. More like apex forager. They are more like oversized raccoons.

They're such fraidy cats. My town had 2 babies stuck in a tree last weekend because they were too scared to come down lol.

The city just put up a sign saying "do not touch them or feed them" until they came down

That is actually the one time you want to stay the fuck away. Black bears are typically quite skittish around humans yes. But, if the mother is around and you approach her cubs she will definitely fuck you up.

Only time I ever seen one was in Yosemite. Was in winter when the park was practically empty and it was a mom and two cubs and you bet your ass I gave them a wide berth.

Yep. We have so many black bears where I'm at that people know the drill. The babies can be really curious though and it's terrifying when they run up to you to play or check you out because you know mama is close by.
