I have never had a "nice" cigar but the one I had was enjoyable. Are they worth the price?

Eh, if I'm wanting fancy tobacco, I go for pipe tobacco. It's a lot cheaper and typically higher quality IMO.

Haven't had any pipe tobacco in years, maybe if I land any of these jobs I have interviews for next week, I'll treat myself to some pipe tobacco.

I have a bag of Lane Limited 1-Q around just for the aroma even though I don’t smoke. It’s such a nice smell when it’s not burning.

My friend got us a cigar right as we graduated high school. We both thought it was gross and it sucked.

I don't mean to yuck your yum, but it felt good to reminisce

a friend of mine did that on my 18th birthday.. it was nasty but i appreciated the sentiment anyway

Health effects aside I think it comes down to personal taste. I'll smoke cigars very rarely and I've personally never noticed a difference between "good"/expensive cigars and more affordable ones so the pricier options aren't really worth it for me.

This is what I was looking for, thank you.

i wouldn't recommend smoking them regularly, beyond the expense they are completely unfiltered and are worse for you than cigarettes

You are not supposed to inhale them so being unfiltered shouldn't affect my lungs. It would also be something I do like twice a year max

there's a pretty high risk of mouth cancer with cigars

The cancer they cause is brutal. If you want to make a habit of nicotine, stick to vapes.

[–] peeonyou@hexbear.net 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

yeah but vapes aren't necessarily any better for you are they?

[–] hellinkilla@hexbear.net 3 points 4 days ago

As far as I know, it is somewhere between improbable to impossible that nicotine vapes are as bad as tobacco. In other words: it is very likely that vapes are better than smoking.

The public health campaign is primarily focused on stopping people below age 25 from getting the habit of any type of nicotine. So the decision has been made (in the US and those whole follow their lead) that riding on the back of prior work done by equivocating between the 2 is a good idea.

As of yet I have managed to not form a habit and its been a few years

[–] Moidialectica@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

What about nicotine patches?

You don’t really inhale cigar smoke. You breath it into your mouth, but not your lungs.

[–] hellinkilla@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago

Thats why you get cancer in your mouth.
