Showerthoughts

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

under rare circumstances a "man" give birth, but its the same thing they Hate though.

[–] shneancy@lemmy.world 1 points 17 minutes ago

no need for quotation marks there

[–] spicehoarder@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 hours ago

Well, that's how flat earthers started. Let's fucking go 🔥🔥🔥

[–] zorflieg@lemmy.world 7 points 8 hours ago

Part of the childbirth freedom and democracy act. Did you know that a womb isn't actually needed to give birth. Scientists at the UofT theorize that the organ is a left over from ancient days when babies needed more protection from daily danger. Now in our totally safe society it's redundant and men can just gestate babies in the space between their organs. Of course c-section is the preferred method of delivery but the alternative is not insurmountable.

We spread a misinformation campaign based around AI forcing you to become a woman

[–] HulkSmashBurgers@reddthat.com 12 points 13 hours ago

They believe what they're told to believe so yes it's possible.

[–] bumbling_bee@lemmy.ml 4 points 10 hours ago

This thread is the best thing I’ve read today 🤣

MAGA is mostly a group of Boomers that have just gotten the hang of the internet within the last 10 years or so. They are still in the "trolling" child-like phase of using the internet.

However, this is slowly morphing into a conspiracy oriented culture. They tell weird stories to each other and other people pretend to believe the stories and add to them. This is why they seem so batshit crazy, they know half the stuff they say is idiotic ... but they like the reactions they get from "the libs" ... its another form of trolling.

So put a liberal hating spin on the story and it would work.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 1 hour ago

maga also includes farther right gen-z, and ge-xers to. prior to pandemic it was mostly boomers and gen x and now it includes alot of Z-ers/.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

I think you're giving them far too much credit

[–] rageagainstthemachine@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

That that's why Sam Altman (who's gay) is pushing AI so hard. He's trying to get pregnant. Illuminati confirmed.

[–] Paper_Phrog@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Yes, and switch his name up and you not only have man but also anal. Coincidence? Maybe.

[–] possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip 4 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Honesty I think liberal audiences would be much more likely to be fooled simply due to the left typically being more open to flexible gender roles.

[–] spicehoarder@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 hours ago

"AI generated content contains subliminal messaging that turns you gay." And "Toxic chemicals leaking from data centers are turning locals gay."

How about that? I don't think they differentiate between gay and trans.

This is not a shower thought

[–] green_goglin@thelemmy.club 11 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

This thought occurred to me while showering.

Conservatives will believe anything as long as it's followed by the hastags #MAGA #PATRIOT #WOKE and #TDS in any order.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (1 children)

My son used AI for a night and now he is a cross dressing transgender freak. 10/10 would recommend.

[–] green_goglin@thelemmy.club 6 points 15 hours ago

Praying for you, patriot.

I have to wonder if they would be upset or joyous about this. Conservatives hate women and see them as nothing more than breeding stock. Would they see this as rendering women obsolete or reducing men to women’s roles?

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 6 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

Let's try "At last pregnancy for people strong enough to refuse abortions!"

Edit: typo

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 1 points 5 hours ago

I can only hope abortions would be impossible so to perform on men in this hypothetical.

[–] Azal@pawb.social 5 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

reducing men to women’s roles

It will be this. 100% this. They don't hate women and see them as nothing more than breeding stock.

Conservatives love women, when they also do what they say, stay in the kitchen and "do womens work"

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 7 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

That’s just slavery with extra steps

one way to find out

[–] Abyssian@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

"But what if we channel and harness the immense power of their gullible retardation?"

[–] TronBronson@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago

Tell them the AI is making their kids trans and they’ll burn the shit down

[–] antifahq@lemmy.world 5 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

We need a new ParlerTrick!

[–] 000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (2 children)

Conservatism is a top-down movement. Even if they are anti-AI at the start, they will fall in line once their masters (who consist of the very people with AI datacenters) push back. In fact, they will go full pro AI and kill their own town if Trump makes being pro-AI a MAGA issue.

Their personal beliefs are always overridden by those of their masters. They literally support a pedophile.

[–] Azal@pawb.social 4 points 14 hours ago

There are some places where the leadership has to turn to whatever their followers say.

Trump did push Operation Warp Speed to help push the COVID vaccinations faster through the regulations and manufacturing.

The fascinating moment was watching him become an anti-vaxxer. He had a speech gently encouraging people to get the vaccine, saying he got it, and said it should be anyones choice but he suggests they get it. The crowd turned on him and booed and he immediately dropped it. After that day he was pure antivax.

It means there is potential to get some nonsense conspiracy from the ground up under these assholes. It's hard, but its possible.

Conservatives will believe anything so long as it’s said to them by the right person

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 13 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Or denied by the right person.

"The baseless rumors that the Democratic party are partnering with Anthropic to enable men to become pregnant are divisive lies perpetrated by cretins in the Republican party."

  • Hilary Clinton

That'll have them frothing at the mouth in no time

[–] ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 14 hours ago

Somebody call her. Get someone on the inside of openai. Let's do this.

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 7 points 19 hours ago

And disbelieve anything that's said by left people

Capable of helping? No. Needs to be a conspiracy. Forcing it to happen. Maybe get some chuddy gay trans dudes a pass.

Did we just create a new R34 genre?

[–] ironycanal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 14 hours ago
[–] ApertureUA@lemmy.today 3 points 16 hours ago

It has always existed?

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 3 points 16 hours ago

I think it's possible, if Jordan Jensen pegs you you become psychologically pregnant.

[–] HeHoXa@lemmy.zip 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)
[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

If you're manly enough, spontaneous impregnation!! That will tell SO much about men who claim it can't happen!

[–] HeHoXa@lemmy.zip 2 points 12 hours ago

I heard Chuck Norris would sometimes get pregnant walking past his reflection

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago

Given what they already believe, pretty sure anything is fair game.
