Contrary to apparently popular opinion, some guys just want to have a pleasant conversation with a stranger, sometimes.

Stopping back at this thread a moment because I need to tell you my most common thoughts in a moving vehicle are to do with estimating speeds and distances multiple ways and seeing how close I can get while still approximating things like "car length = 2m" or "building height = 2 storeys = 2 x (2.5m + 1m) appearing half the height of that hill over yonder which is approximately three times as far away". I'll do this in different ways and see if they all agree. I'll often get stuck in rabbit holes of things like working out the speed of light in terms of pedestrians or angle of sunlight based on which way the train was going before it annoyingly went round a bend to throw me off.
Wow that sounds so smart. If I'm thinking of anything it's just replaying social interactions and trying to keep my tics from becoming to apparent until I get home.

Those were just fixations. There was no in depth analysis or deep examination of the factors or parties involved. It was entirely surface level interest of a surface level topic. Just because someone pays attention to something that doesn't make it a hyper fixation.
Alright, I can't say what your conversations have been like. It's just been my experience that if someone has one sentence to say about yt/TikTok drama, they have an essay's worth of follow up regarding what previous drama precipitated the current drama, what third parties have to say about it and whether any bridges are being burned, who's in the right and why, and so on...

The ice went about as far south as Northern Montana and South Dakota for the most part. It was kilometres thick, and caused drumlins and kames, deposited till and formed massive lakes.

There was a discussion on climate change. One economist made a model that said 4 degrees C warming only will cause a few percentage GDP. The guy said that if you put -4 in the model, you also get a few percentage cost, and that at -4 there would be a kilometer of ice on the spot they're sitting and it seems a bit off it would just influence the economy that little.
Lesson learned. Look at your phone even if you aren't looking at your phone.

What’s hard to believe here? It’s a pretty common pickup line and the most effective non confrontational way to make a person regret trying to talk to you. I’ve had basically the same experience more than once, except I rant about grammatical cases instead (just as boring for most).
