I saw a video of Buttigieg from today where he mentioned expanding the supreme court. Of course - it's total bullshit but it's still funny to compare it to this. Dem pols are still hesitant to pull out of Trump's birthday shit because it's also America's birthday shit. If they can't even manage that level of action because they are scared of their own shaows - how would they ever actually pack the court?

Of course, he's out of office, so it's fine for him to suggest things

Can't use the power of his station to actually help people though

Big no-no

He also mentioned healthcare. But - of course - if he mentioned the filibuster at all - it was in passing. That dang filibuster gets in the way of everything good! Gosh darn it - what can you do?

Of course, he's out of office, so it's fine for him to suggest things

I assume he'll be in dem 2028 dem presidential nom clown car and every one of them will being saying stuff like "We need to address healthcare costs" and "Action needs to be taken about the supreme court". I think the only main difference will be their take on a single word: abundance. The range will be from a hearty embrace to lukewarm approval to mild disapproval to rejection where a different but equally awful neolib shit is mentioned that is a name-concept that fits on a bumper sticker.

I wonder how many people will be in that car. 20? Even as many as 30? There's no downside to running. Nobody remembers who dropped out so why not run?

Unfortunately no, IIRC I spent pretty much all my off time that summer playing Hitman Absolution by myself and eating refried beans.

They made Butter Bars real and also worse for you? I thought they were from a Trevor Moore sketch

I do like me a fried dough or funnel cake

But deep-fried butter is just catgirl-disgust

I could see myself liking it but in a very small quantity. A bite with maybe half a pat of butter per bite? Still a lot of butter but okay. Once you start describing an entire stick of it in this form you lose me

[–] Blakey@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, if it was one of those little single serving plastic tubs worth I would probably love one or two. A whole stick? Gtfo.

Its a question of ratios. If you pounded the butter flat enough then battered it you basically made one layer of puff pastry. Fold that on itself enough and that's a croissant. There is a pad of butter the right size for this to work.

My literal ISP blocks viewing this link

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It's a "share" archive.today link. I wonder if your ISP is using shitty malware protection software that flags it. Does the CNN link work for you?

Sigh. Everything involving archive links gets worse and worse.
