Fun fact: I read Andrei Tarkovsky's diary a while ago (the famous soviet movie director) and remember there's an entry like "Today I took my kids to the theater to watch Japanese cartoons." And it's always been kinda fun to me that Tarkovsky was aware of anime

I saw stalin and trotsky in the closet making revolutions and I saw one of the revolutions and the revolution looked at me.
