Rick James kidnapping and trafficking a woman with his 21 year old girlfriend whom he forced the victim to preform oral acts on her as he tuned in and is she objected, he would severely abuse her with a scorching crack pipe.

Dave Chappelle and Charlie Murphy basically revived the legacy and reputation of a horrendously deranged cocaine addicted sex pest.

As if Chappelle isn't already falling off hard enough I candidly pointed out how even his golden years weren't as golden as they seemed either.

Shocked how no one cares The Simpsons guy is on it.

If Rethuglicans weren't so busy shattering the American way, maybe we'll have enough time to express how vile Hollywood is and how we need to stop it as well.

I was looking at Depp's wikipedia page recently and I noticed a Polanski film. I never really looked into all that but I knew that was kind of sketchy. Turns out Polanski plead guilty to raping a child in the 70s and has been a fugitive from the State of California ever since. It's not like it's a secret, everyone knows, and they still keep working in his fucking movies. Depp just wanted to work with him so bad, he didn't give a fuck. Likewise a bunch of other A-list stars, producers, publishers... and then every one of them acts like they give such a big fuck about Weinstein. It's so performative, it's sickening.

In 2003, Polanski won the Oscar for Best Director for the Pianist. There was a standing ovation and Harrison Ford accepted it for him, though he was also the presenter so it could have been just because he was there. Then again, he did meet up with Polanski at a festival in France to deliver the award himself, so… https://youtu.be/PXnNOBj26lk

alot of actors, producers want to be hollywood elite circles to stay employed. Rob mac has been with questionable(although not terrible) people like ryan reynolds, seems to have done something that media doesnt talk about, and hanging out with "tom brady", all the fans know hes desperate to hang onto the teets of hollywood(as the isaip crew is basically fading from the industry). depp pretty much piad the price by getting blacklisted by amber heard. polanski fled to portugul to escape prosecution.

[–] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 7 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Part of me wonders if Ryan and his wife aren’t struggling for relevancy because her boss was sexually harassing her and she spoke up and Ryan was publicly supportive like any good husband should be

[–] rainwall@piefed.social 2 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

That was deeply fucked up, especially all the internal texts/emails from the spin artists her harasser hired to discredit her that talked about how to use the internet to attack her.

Still, Reynolds/Lively are pretty rich at this point. He sold a succesful alcohol company (aviation) and phone company(mint mobile), bought a successful soccer team(Wrexham AFC)/etc.

They may just be living their best life out of the limelight at this point.

Polanski had sex with a teenager. She is still saying she consented. I know, it's still rape, it's still vile, but I thought I'd point out that he didn't abuse a 5-year old in case you got that impression.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 7 points 8 hours ago

You say, "Polanski has sex with a teenager," but I am quite comfortable with, "Polanski raped a child."

[–] escapedgoat@lemmy.world 15 points 15 hours ago

I didn't know much about it so I looked into it a bit. I was thinking, okay maybe she was like 16 or 17 which is the age of consent in some places and maybe he was like 26 or 27. I remember a time when that wasn't such a big deal; creepy, but accepted. But looking into it, she was 13 and he was 42. I also couldn't find anywhere she claimed she consented. In fact she openly states that what he did was wrong and has consistently maintained that she said no.

She did say, "Straight up, what he did to me was wrong. But I wish he would return to America so the whole ordeal can be put to rest for both of us. I'm sure if he could go back, he wouldn't do it again. He made a terrible mistake but he's paid for it." She also sued and settled out of court with him in the 80s and 90s over the matter. She also said, "It's an unpleasant memory ... (but) I can live with it." She also filed to have the charges dropped as the publicity and discussion of the details of the event have been a continuing source of trauma for her and her family.

As for my personal feelings on the matter after looking into it? He should come back to the U.S. and serve his time. But as DJT said, "when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy."

[–] BigBenis@lemmy.world 4 points 16 hours ago

The age of consent is 18 so no she legally could not consent.

Rockstars and underage groupies. Steven Tyler, Jimmy Page, and Anthony Kiedis to name a few. I think even David Bowie had some questionable stuff too.

Jerry Lee Lewis married his 13 year old cousin.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myra_Lewis_Williams

"On December 12, 1957, at the age of 13, Williams married Jerry Lee Lewis, then 22, in Hernando, Mississippi.[3][2] When Lewis arrived in London for a 37-date tour in May 1958, Williams revealed to a reporter at the airport that she was his wife.[4] Lewis asserted that Williams was 15 years old and was his wife of two months. However, it was discovered that she was only 13, and that they had been married for five months.[5] This caused an uproar and, after a few dates, the tour was cancelled.[4] By the time they returned to Memphis, it had been discovered that Williams was not only Lewis' wife, she was also his first cousin once removed. In addition, Lewis had not yet divorced his previous wife, Jane Mitcham.[4] After Lewis finalized his divorce from Mitcham, he remarried Williams on June 4, 1958.[5] The scandal over their marriage was a significant set back to Lewis' promising rock and roll career,[6] though his 1986 naming to the first group of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members recognized Lewis' early influence on the genre. Lewis would also find success in country music.[7]

By 1970, Lewis' drug addiction, alcoholism, and infidelity had taken a toll on their marriage.[8][9] Williams filed for divorce on the grounds of adultery and abuse,[5] stating that she had been "subject to every type of physical and mental abuse imaginable."[4][8] Their divorce was finalized on December 9, 1970. They had two children.[10]"

Steve Tyler also basically bought an underage girl to take on tour with him. He admitted to having sex with her while underage in his book. In court he argued since he was her legal guardian it was okay for him to have sex with her.

[–] TIEPilot@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh and Frank Zappa's band/roadies were pretty insane to groupies...

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Damn, didn't realize Frank's Garage was a confession

[–] TIEPilot@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

Oh yeah "Fido 5" was the center of the universe for debauchery.

Not too long ago I met this girl, who had dated this waiter who once served Madonna a whiskey sour in a bar in Luton, and apparently she fished the ice out of her glass with her FINGERS. And she had a bit of parsley stuck between her front teeth.

[–] modus@lemmy.world 12 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

That's fucking disgusting. I bet she didn't even traffic any children that year either.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 5 points 18 hours ago

That was the year she assassinated Weird Al

[–] finallymadeanaccount@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago

Jesus H Fucking Christ in a Taxicab!

[–] toofpic@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh no, Madonna is a human!

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 6 points 16 hours ago

not after those plastic surgery stints. she reclaimed her natural form.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 4 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Oh yeah? This makes me like Madonna more. I would assumed real assholes would tell the waiter to remake their drink instead of just fixing it herself. Good for her.

Who cares about the parsley?

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

That's not how jokes work.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz -1 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

I wasn't trying to make one.

Does fishing ice out of your drink make you an absolute horrendous individual? Or is it the parsley?

What makes it an horrific media scandal? I'm trying to understand.

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 2 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

Yes, I know. You are trying to draw meaningful real-world inferences from the nonsense stated in a silly made up story presented as a joke. You are trying to form conclusions from the text when all the meaning is in the subtext that you are apparently not picking up on. Or your humour is extremely dry, but I live with aspies, so I'm going with this.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 1 points 4 hours ago

Okay. You were saying notsosure was making the joke and it flew over my head.

Well that's true. I thought they were serious.

Matthew Broderick killed 2 people while drunk driving in 1987 and got away with it

Edit: he was not drunk, he swerved into oncoming traffic. He was in northern Ireland and his reason for doing so is unknown by his account, he can't remember anything about it.

[–] ComradePenguin@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I did not find any evidence anywhere that he was drunk or intoxicated.

It seems he was driving on the wrong side of the road because he's used to driving on the other side, because he's from America and he was in Northern Ireland.

The last part I'm not entirely sure about. But I did not find any evidence of him being drunk or intoxicated in any way.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

James Willems, is that you?

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 19 points 1 day ago

The grammar in OP's first paragraph is a disturbing crime but doesn't meet the other criteria.

Man this thread is mild.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social -5 points 1 day ago (3 children)

You just wanted to shit on Chappelle. You just dressed it up as something else.

[–] Bristlecone@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

Here comes the person who wants to defend a bigot that doesn't give a shit about them ... Smh

[–] jerkface@lemmy.ca 22 points 20 hours ago

Like there's something wrong with shitting on Chappelle?

Chappelle’s views on trans people is enough that I won’t watch any of his content anymore.
