I think I pay 60€ per 3 months, so 240 per year, and I get a part of it back after submitting some form.
Work Reform
A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

Delta pilots are unionized. Wide body captains are making over $700k/year
I can see why Delta doesn't want the rest of their employees unionizing. I don't see why they haven't
"Buy this thing so you don't notice while we take advantage of you."
I'm honestly surprised they aren't telling us to buy something Delta sells to complete the grift.
Coincidentally, unions might be the only things that could still save the AAA side of the games industry...
I think the current AAA system should die. It’s brutal for the people making games and it’s completely unsustainable in the long run.
Just to be clear, a system is not on subscription.
You know who I trust to tell me how to live my life? Big faceless corporations. They obviously want what's best for me more than they care about their bottom line.
For whoever reported this as Anti-Union Propaganda, you are correct. However, this post has been approved because it's blatantly awful as a piece of propaganda. Anyone who thinks that this post provides a convincing argument, please add your comment to the thread to promote discussion. :)
$700 lol 😆...I wish . Try $4500/year and worth every penny. GO UNION!!!
Union dues are tax deductible where I am, quick ddg says no in the US?
Work expenses are tax deductible.. Union dues are work expenses.. Same with safety equipment such as steel toe boots and FR clothing, uniforms etc
Average annual salary is slightly less than $70k annually in the US. A union that gets you even a meager 3% raise annually is ~$2100 in increased income or 3x what your dues is.
Bunch of fucking wankers.
So what you're saying, is that Delta employees are so stupid, that they fall for this shit?
I was going to say that it got a lot of negative attention.
But seeing that Delta employees still aren't fully unionized may mean you're right.
They think gamers are fucking stupid. It’s too bad they are right.
Gamergate proved that they are indeed fucking stupid.
Really just people in general, not gamers in particular.
So $58.33 per month or like 3.65 McDonald's double Bacon quarter pounder with cheese meals per month.
It's always worth making sure the union is working in your interest and not wasting funds but beyond that the money will pay for itself generally speaking.
That's roughly what I pay and I just got two retroactive 3% raises and a massive increase in my benefits thanks to my union. My employer wanted to cut people or freeze pay and the union made them back down in everything. We got everything we wanted and didn't need to compromise... Worth every penny in union dues. I'll have a cheque for a few thousands dollars mid July now.
Unionize!
Not all unions are good but not having a union is typically far worse.
My first job in high school was at a grocery store with a union and they did jack shit for me when I got fired for something out of my control. Almost a year later they called and told me they could get me my job back but I wouldn't get back pay and I owed them X months of union dues. It soured my opinion on unions for years.
Nowadays, I wish everyone would unionize.
Those were the sorts of stories I heard about unions when I was growing up. Want to clean up a mess? Sorry, union rules say you have to wait for another guy to get here to do it.
I always felt like unions just got in the way of doing things logically or quickly, but I'm pretty sure those stories and comments were intended to do that. Nowadays I know better, and I agree with you: we need unions now more than ever.
Well after my experience with unions in Philadelphia, I'm pretty confident in saying that it varies. I worked for a company that held conventions. We wanted the flag of each attending country to line the entrance hall and it took coordination with FOUR unions. I am not exaggerating.
One union to bring the pallet to the hallway
A second union to place the flag bases
Yet another union to place the flags in the bases
And the last to remove the pallet/packaging (not the same as the first!)
I found this out when I nearly got tackled after putting a flag in its base.
On the flip side, my friend's labor union secured a (permanent) $5/hr raise during COVID.
Any governing body of any form needs attention, particularly ones that have the power to tax.
Big corporations actively campaigning against you doing something like this is always a pretty safe bet that the opposite of what they want is in your interest.
This looks illegal
Not in Gringoland, nope. Union-busting behaviour is routine there. Something that is well documented and studied.
BTW: great username!
If im getting union wages I can do both
wait, i cannot tell if this is real. it's to absurd to be real but it's also american so i'm lost
This is what literally popped into my head when I read the blatant anti-union propaganda.
How much do your union busting consultants cost Delta?
I bet it is a fuckload more than that.
Ok but here’s the thing… you can regicide the price of the union with the company and hand the company pay for most of your union dues and realistically 700/year isn’t bad for job security, higher wages, better hours and better benefits aswell as various other things that not being in a union would be impossible. This union busting is madly illegal and really fucked up. Hate US companies
I swear to all the fucking gods, I'm contrarian enough that even if I were anti union, this shitty attempt at manipulation would make me jump on board.
Like, fuck, don't insult my fucking intelligence like that
Its a shame no one puts a sticker that says Union dues are like an investment that will pay off in dividends way above 700
I feel like if I worked someplace that put up that sign I would go study to become a plumber. Infuriating.
I worked for a summer at Staples. They actively discouraged unionization.
If there ever was a sign that you probably need a union... This is it.
I'm pretty sure this falls under a railway labor act violation.
And yes, workers in aviation get lumped under the railway labor act when it comes to unionizing.
Don't think. Don't organize. Just consume.
