If we are able to get our country back in 2028 whoever the president is then needs to use every bit of their power to arrest and prosecute every single person who went along with Donny’s agenda. If not we will do this all over again, but stupider and worse.

[–] Eheran@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Ah, you mean like last time? Where nothing was prosecuted?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 2 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

No, like the NEXT time, when we will prosecute and imprison them ruthlessly and mercilessly, and any Democrat that resists will be investigated, prosecuted, and imprisoned as well. Treason will no longer be tolerated by ANYONE.

You work for US! Do your jobs, or else!

If he pardons them there is nothing anyone can do... legally

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 3 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Not necessarily. There will still be options for most of them, if we have the political will to play HARD BALL.

Also, it's important to remember that these people are literally career criminals. They don't know how to operate legally. Now that we know who they are and what they are up to, we will just prosecute them harshly for their future crimes - and there will be future crimes, they can't help it.

We just have to hound them for their entire lives. And their families. And their businesses. And their neighbors. Make everyone they know regret their association.

Make them American Pariahs. We could create an actual official list of Wanted Pardoned MAGA Criminals, and if any actionable criminal activity by these specific things individuals is uncovered, there is additional bonus rewards for reporting them. Encourage people to monitor them CLOSELY in every aspect of their lives.

And the entirety of the Joe Biden administration for the genocide in Gaza, and the entirety of the Bush administration for the illegal wars, and the entirety of the Obama administration for the illegal drone strikes, and the entirety of the...

That president also needs to close every single loophole Donny exposed.

They won't tho.

You would have to be a moron to believe Democrats will hold Republicans responsible for anything.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 19 points 6 days ago (5 children)

If the Dems don't hold MAGA responsible for their many CRIMES, it's YOUR fault.

Mamdani recently said:

"For far too long our party has seen its job as managing decline instead of delivering material change for working people. It has seen its job as explaining why we cannot instead of showing how we can."

YOU are part of "managing decline," either out of cowardice, or by design.

Politicians are generally lazy and greedy, and if you tell them that you expect nothing from them, give them permission to do nothing, and tell them that we'll do nothing about it, and that's exactly what they'll do - Northing - and they'll go right back to their favorite pastime, Insider Trading.

Last night, 29 year old Democratic Socialist Melat Kiros won her primary over a 15 term incumbent, and said:

"For decades Democrats have failed to meaningfully deliver for working families,” Kiros told POLITICO’s William Steakin late last night following her stunning victory in Colorado’s 1st Congressional District. “We have to root out the corruption and get money out of our politics … It’s about political will — and that means we have to vote out any of the incumbents that are standing in our way by taking that kind of corporate PAC money.”

You are talking about the OLD Democratic Party, the lazy, corrupt losers that helped MAGA gain power, and let them into the White House, TWICE. The MAGA Comedy act of Schmuck & Jeffries are as responsible for that as MAGA itself, and the NEW Democrats that will take over after the Midterms will not will not accept their traditional Corporate Establishment Democratic Identities as Cowardly Weenies. They are being elected to make change, they are taking that charge seriously, and we need to support them with everything we've got.

We need to send the message that we will no longer accept them doing nothing. We already elected them once to do something about MAGA, and they fucked us over, and let MAGA back in. If we take it back again, we expect them to deal with MAGA decisively, crush it, and purge it from our government, and our society.

But instead, your response is: "We know you won't do anything to save us from the MAGA Parasites, but that's okay, we never really expected your help anyway."

Ew, gross. Grow a spine.

Well you're in luck then, because a solid 30% of Americans are in fact morons, with another 20% precariously balanced on a knife edge

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 days ago

The definition of Democrat is changing. The old guard is finally falling. This might actually work out after all. I’m skeptical but hopeful.

Democrats won't, but progressives sure will.

[–] kreskin@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Ever shoot clay pigeons? do you think we could build a clay pidgeon launcher that could shoot a pedo human? Just a physics question.

Yeah, blue could win everything. They could have a supermajority in both chambers of Congress and pack the Supreme court to have an undeniable majority

And the Democrats would still ensure that no other conservatives see any kind of consequences.

[–] CADmonkey@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (3 children)

Your tired defeatism is what they are hoping for.

Vance is now on record saying if the Nixon scandal happened today it wouldn't even make it on the news. That is how brazenly corrupt these asshats are.

No apologies, just the smug "we can grift all we want".

I'll still vote blue begrudgingly, but I have very very VERY little faith in Dem leadership will do anything meaningful like putting the current administration in prison. I'm already expecting to be massively disappointed in the Dems doing fuck all if they gain power back. Love to be proved wrong, but establishment Dems still hold the party and you can't trust any of those stock trading bastards.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 22 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That's why you need to vote for the farthest left primary hand didn't matter how "unelectable" or "extreme" you were told they are because electing more centrists is the same as just selecting more Republicans

Strong worded letter inbound.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

After the Midterms, those strongly worded letters are going to be subpoenas.

[–] the_crotch@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 days ago (6 children)

Sure, just like last time right?

Hey hey hey, let's not shove the pedal to the floor !. There are many less aggressive options to consider before penning a strongly worded letter !

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

It's time to put pedos in jail, not in office.

You mean in the ground

[–] TronBronson@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago

They might even wag their finger at them!

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago (4 children)

I would like to see some public whipping... Maybe couple of hangings...

[–] end_stage_ligma@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

best I can do is sensationalist critiques in Huff Post.

[–] SecretiveVault@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 days ago

No they won't. They'll protect them and post some dramatic tweets about how horrible they are. Centrist Democrats won't do jack shit. They're weak and in on the grift.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 days ago

And they shouldn't?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 6 days ago

It's even worse, Mikey. We're going to PUNISH y'all for your crimes, and y'all been doing a LOT of criming lately.

[–] Tacky4092@feddit.org 4 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

And you would be foolish to think the Reps don't have a couple of plans lined up to make sure that this won't happen. You guys are fucked. Kick their asses.
