What have the Mexicans done to deserve this?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Not enough diarrhea explosivo.

Sometimes chinese people eat at 'chinese for americans' type restaurants, but I would be surprised to hear if there are any successful ones in china. Maybe tourist areas? Still seems like a poor choice.

The time to open a 'french' bakery in france is now...

A Panda Express in china would be hilarious.

Mexicans already scoff at tacos that cost like $6.

They will not purchase $20 burritos

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 17 points 1 day ago

I don't know how cheap Mexico is relative to America, but given cost of living differences I doubt they'll be selling $20 burritos.

My chipotle is under 10 bucks ($8.75) for a chicken burrito, got to ask where are you at?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

$17.50 in Canada.

Now they'll finally know what REAL Mexican cuisine tastes like!

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To be fair, it could be sold as Tex-Mex. I don't know if it would work, but theoretically it could.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 day ago

Tex-Mex can be massively divergent from Mexican food, but at least occasionally it's not crap. So nothing like Chipotle.

This is gonna go about as well as Taco Bell's attempts.

[–] blimthepixie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 day ago

...are they stupid?

[–] yenahmik@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

I don't see this going well for them.

Americans ate Mexican food, shat it out into a cardboard bowl, and are now selling it back to actual Mexicans. Sounds legit 👍
