Breakfast: lost to time.

Lunch: a morsel of raw squirrel meat.

Supper: 12 frozen hotdogs with mayonnaise and hollandaise sauce.

[–] missmichaele@mindly.social 7 points 2 years ago

@pancakes @MadgePickles Wait -- your cat bought you lunch?

[–] Maajmaaj@lemmy.ca 12 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I almost don't want to say it because of those godforsaken "old site" ads but; since I'm so shit at eating well I just said fuck it and started buying those meal replacement shakes. You know the ones. I will say that I'm definitely less stressed out about food/cooking now, and I have more cash to fuck around with, but the shakes also make me feel like I'm living in a dystopia, lol.

[–] MadgePickles@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I have been wanting to do this but I also think my body will just think I haven't eaten because I haven't chewed anything, you know what I mean?

[–] Maajmaaj@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I totally get it, but trust me when I say: that s*** is filling. You know how we forget to eat right? So I started using that (and the appetite suppressant effects of Adderall) to my advantage with intermittent fasting. I'll drink a shake at noon and won't be hungry until 3 at the earliest or 5 at the latest.

[–] MadgePickles@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Sadly my stimulation seeking has never given me that issue, even Adderall doesn't really diminish my hunger. I think most of my "hunger" is just my stomach wanting a stim

[–] Lorela@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Have you ever tried some sort of stimmy food like pepitas? They're kinda a pain to eat if you're not used to it. I can do one at a time and don't have the best success rate of even getting the seed out 😂.

[–] MadgePickles@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 years ago

Pumpkin seeds are sensory hell for me sadly. I usually get by with many beverages - first coffee, 2nd decaf coffee midmorning, decaf diet coke in the afternoon, maybe a lemonade seltzer later. Baby carrots are a good munch for me, cherries. Apple and peanut butter.

[–] weariedfae@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

Yep, I'm the same way. An IT person in my life got way into Soylent. I tried it for a while and ended up just eating double because if I don't have solid food I don't feel like I ate.

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I tried Soylent and while they aren't completely awful like others I've tried, they still have the problem of not making me feel full, so I'll drink one and then still end up eating something. Usually junk.

If it weren't for the weed, I don't think I'd ever eat, my autistic ass just wouldn't think of it.
But also if all it takes is ripping open a packet and pouring stuff out to have ready to chew food (but not liquid or mush, the texture 😫), it's a winner. Because eventually I get to the point where I feel sick and NEED FOOD NOW or I'll throw up acid.
Brains are weird.

[–] stiirfry@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

I can go from completely food averse/nauseous to making 5 star meals in my kitchen after a good visit with miss mary jane lmaoo

[–] reedthompson@reddthat.com 2 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Consistently relying on weed to give you an appetite can make you dependent on it to feel hungry. Note how most heavy long term smokers you know are thin as rails.

If you happen to have this problem, however, a meal replacement drink like Soylent can be a godsend. It's pretty hard to eat a nutritious 2000 calories if you have to wait until you're really high at 9pm to start eating.

[–] jscummy@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago

Absolutely. I've been taking regular breaks after smoking constantly for about a year and it took a couple days to actually have an appetite again

[–] girl@lemm.ee 2 points 2 years ago

idk every long time heavy weed user I know has hella munchies and are either slightly or really fat, myself included lol

Literally my conversation with my wife last night.

Me when I got home from work: I was good today! I bought some new, low calorie rice cake snacks with flax, chia, and quinoa! A serving is only 90 cal and they taste awesome!

My wife: I bought a 10 pack of king cones...

Me: ...I also bought hot pockets...

[–] confusedbytheBasics@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Weird day... I've eaten:

  • Fiber powder
  • 4 eggs with hot sauce
  • 1 can of sardines in olive oil
  • 1 can of tuna
  • 3 roasted almonds
  • A few bites of sauerkraut
[–] MadgePickles@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] confusedbytheBasics@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Weird day for sure but I felt amazing. Slept well and woke up early. Maybe I should do this again on purpose?

Breakfast was two slices of raisin toast

Lunch was 30-40 sping rolls, legit too many to count

Dinner was some Mexican chickpea bowl thing

I think I fucked up with a few too many sping rolls??

[–] C_Leviathan@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I have questions;

  1. Did you mean spring rolls?

if so,

  1. Were they full sized spring rolls?

if so,

  1. Where did you get that many full sized spring rolls down your craw in one sitting? A restaurant?
[–] MadgePickles@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 years ago

Right? Give me this magical spring roll fountain

[–] renrenPDX@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Asian mom/grandmother can satisfy all three bullet points.

My body WANTS to be diabetic, who am I to get in its way?

[–] popemichael@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

My body as well.

I'm type 1 and 2 at the same time thanks to a genetic disorder called McCune Albright syndrome.

[–] TimewornTraveler@lemm.ee 6 points 2 years ago

definitely cant relate to all you hunger-forgetters. I went the other way into full on binge eating (BED). constant snacking = constant victory 😎 dopamine city baby

oh god praise Vyvanse and its expiring patent

[–] junezephier@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

A meal replacement drink, ~several hours of hyperfocus~ like 10 handfuls of peanuts??? ~more hours of focus~ a chicken breast, some roasted veggies, baked potato (pleased about this, but it was provided for me) i am very good at being functional and taking care of my body

[–] MadgePickles@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 years ago

This is like my meal plan that I never achieve

[–] Jack_of_all_derps@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago

Yesterday, I had half a box of cheez-it duos (sharp cheddar and parmesan) at about 2pm...after getting up about 8am and going for a run at 11am. Didn't eat again until I got home from picking up my wife at the airport at 10:30pm. I ate about 3 servings of tater tots. Didn't eat again until 6pm today. Fucking hell that's not great.

[–] LordRaymond@kbin.social 5 points 2 years ago (2 children)

some Red Baron pepperoni pizza slices for dinner 🍕

[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 2 points 2 years ago

I had a sandwich today.

It was good.

[–] Gormadt@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Started out nice, english muffins, tea, cereal.

Lunch was kinda last minute and incredibly late, left over green bean casserole and a veggie chicken sandwich.

Dinner though, dinner is going to be wild.I'm either going to make another green bean casserole or some minute rice depending on how late I end up making it... So probably rice.

[–] hiyaaaaa23@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What do you like to put oj minute rice?

[–] SangriaFerret@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

OJ on minute rice sounds innovative.

[–] capt_wolf@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Mix with soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, then add some chicken, scallions, and some bean sprouts and you've got a damn tasty dinner.

It's different each time, sometimes hit sauce, sometimes Alfredo sauce, usually veggies though.

Sometimes chicken, but that mostly depends on if I've got the motivation or the left overs.

[–] handofdumb@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

I made eggs this morning. I had a weird bubble waffle thing. Then I had Chipotle and some Pocky. I know I snack on some stuff to but I can't remember.

[–] hiyaaaaa23@kbin.social 3 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

We had same breakfast as every day (almonds and rice cakes) then lunch was a turkey sandwich with way too much Mayo, dinner was Chinese food.

Ngl actually pretty good today.

Then of course I ended the day by eating about 7 servings of MNMs so maybe not the best day

[–] Bozicus@lemmy.one 3 points 2 years ago

I have not felt like eating at any point today, so I haven't. But I ate lots yesterday? I will probably eat a bunch of random stuff later.

[–] darthwonka@mastodon.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

@MadgePickles I’ve been nursing a 32 oz insulated mug of coffee everyday for a while.

[–] Methylman@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Tea time

Tell me you're British without saying it

[–] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I actually got it from my wife and in-laws who are Indian.

[–] BackStabbath@lemm.ee 3 points 2 years ago

Can confirm, am Indian.
