I'll edit my responses here...

A small anecdote here: I read a few days ago that apparently, Alzheimer's patients get their daily routine and circadian rhythm knocked around by this policy

Edit 2: It's funny how people are talking about time, as if this were my 2nd post of discussion on why time measurement is bullshit, on my account...

Some memorable replies here:

another point is that it's probably not great for animals with a strong internal clock

Do not make me get up an hour earlier I will fucking cut you.

On the other hand it is nice the park is open later but have you considered just adequately lighting the park bike paths?

it's bad and we should commemorate the inventor with a public toilet

We should have 13 months of 28 days each.

Every 12-13 days we set the clock back an hour to account for the extra 30 hours in a year.

So two times a month we get an extra hour to sleep. And no leap years to boot.

Time becomes meaningless.

I see no problems with this.

Always the same map, changing clocks twice a year is imperialist.

Time is a human system and the fact that we have a global-ish standard at all is a massive accomplishment in both technology and governance. We could implement A More Perfect Time System tomorrow and the reality is that we’d still need it to be backwards compatible so that historical data isn’t all useless and broken, so at best we’d add a new wrinkle into existing time zone specifications.

Tbh, I'm scared of touching time, and changing it for what it is...

i think it's cool that time is made up bullshit, and DST is here to remind us of that fact.

we should leave it on year round

It fucked over my sleep schedule last week, so death to DST

Falling back is nice, but not enough to compensate for how much springing forward sucks. I'm against making daylight savings time year-round and in favor of year-round abolition. Night owls get enough shit from this society as-is.

I moved from a US state that didn't do daylight savings to one that did and I fucking hate it.

Time is man's attempt to ride a wave of order in an ocean of chaos.

In other words, DST or no DST. Pick one and stick to it, damnit!

Some fancy lad centuries ago decided this was a thing and we all have to live with it. No.

I like it and I think we should expand it. June 7th will roll back to may 30th.
