I’m not a Linux wizard but I’m pretty skilled and I love mint. Although, my preference recently changed to Fedora plasma.

I think computing like this is cool, but I’m a glasses wearer when you have an astigmatism, it can be difficult to switch between lenses or adjust to new ones.

I’d be 0 astigmatism people have this.

Dude! They are all once a century events. It’s just that they are all happening in the same year.

I’m all for them striking, but I expect people visiting the parks will not take it well.

They will understandably be upset that their vacation got ruined, but I fear they will direct their anger towards the striking cast members.

I’m an extrovert and I never really understood how it felt draining to be around others.

One day, it clicked. It must be the way it feels going shopping for clothes. I find that extremely tiring and overwhelming. Afterwords I’m so tired I can’t even think for a little while.

What about children who were brought across the busted with their family illegally. They were forced.

[-] M500@lemmy.ml 8 points 5 days ago

Those are good points actually.

You’ve changed my opinion about how I felt about version 2.

Here is the honest answer from someone who has hired people.

If you are over qualified for the job, the deal is that you will keep looking and quickly switch to a job better suited for your talents.

That means, I need to spend a bunch of time and money looking for a new candidate and spend money and time on training and getting them up to speed.

Hiring someone is extremely time consuming and pretty expensive. There are tons of no tangible things that go into considering who to hire.

That reminds me of this cringe YouTube short I saw.

This recent college grad was talking about how he was an intern on Wall Street but decided to take a risk and quit his job to start a company in Dubai.

He then shows a clip of him in this really fancy condo and then asks if the viewer will do the same thing of following their dreams.

Where the fuck did he get the money to move to Dubai and start a company? Who’s paying for that fancy condo?

Pissed me off to no end. He clearly just started working but had plenty of money and then acts like following your dreams is a matter of courage. Fuck off!

Back before software subscriptions were a thing, I had a few different licenses which I would have assumed were perpetual.

In a way they were, but then my version stopped receiving updates and version 2 came out and they wanted me to buy version 2.

So perpetual licenses don’t mean anything if the company wants to be a jerk about it.

Who? You mean Rafaell?

I don’t view this content myself. But people should be able to. Nintendo is driving me away due to their behavior and I’m losing interest in the company.

I doubt I’ll buy their next console. I have less time than I did back then, but if I’m on the line about it, I’ll say no based on their recent behavior.

I’d like to be able to use the iOS text recognition in images that way I can easily translate memes that are in different languages.

Other than that, just want to say thanks for the amazing app. I really do not miss Apollo at all. Memmy has come a long way so quickly.

In addition, I love the purple space icon. It’s so great!

My webcam does not work. I’m sure it’s a hardware issue as it persists in windows and Linux. I already reseated the camera and it still happpens.

The other issue is that it seems the keyboard randomly ignores key presses. I’m not sure what the issue is, but it’s frustrating to type on as it happens randomly and a few times ever couple hundred characters.

Can someone give me some advice on how to self repair these problems? My goal is to sell the laptop once it’s repaired.

Other than those issues, it works really great. I just want something a bit thinner.

Overall the game is OK, but it seems that the environment is kind of boring compared to Metroid Prime 1. But maybe it is just nostalgia. What are your thoughts?

If you agree, do you think they did a better job in Prime 3? I'll play that next.

Xbox vs PS2? (lemmy.ml)
submitted 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) by M500@lemmy.ml to c/emulation@lemmy.ml

I have a decent ps2 rom collection and started collecting Xbox.

I assume that ps2 emulation is further along than Xbox, so I’ve just been collecting Xbox exclusives.

But I know some games are better on Xbox like GTA.

What games do you think were better on Xbox than they were on ps2?

I’m on the latest iOS update and using an iPhone 15.

I can respond to messages in other posts, but I can’t reply to messages that are in my inbox from the app.

I have to problem replying from my desktop.

I think the ammo for the beam weapons is a bit stressful. I just got them and am wondering if using an infinite ammo cheat will ruin the experience or if it will make the game more enjoyable.

Maybe I will get ammo upgrades and it won’t matter.

What is your opinion on the matter? I don’t mind being stressed if it makes the game more fun overall.

I just plugged the steam deck in to a monitor and while I was transferring some roms and started to wonder if it would be feasible to use as a day to day computer while docked.

I fought with prime hack for a while trying to get it to work. I was using the GameCube Metroid prime 2 iso.

It loaded fine, but I could not get the controller mapped correctly.

I discovered that there is a Wii Metroid prime trilogy iso.

I tried this one and then suddenly everything worked perfectly.

The on screen button icons even matched the steam deck instead of showing the GameCube button.

I hope this helps as it’s a great series and it deserves to be played through primehack.

Mac Sales are Down (www.theverge.com)
submitted 8 months ago by M500@lemmy.ml to c/apple@lemmy.ml

Mac sales are down.

I’m really not surprised. They are just a bit too expensive once you start upgrading the storage and ram.

I have been holding out on buying a Mac since the M2 was rumored to come out.

I keep hoping that the base model will have a larger amount of storage and ram, but it does not.

They keep selling faster processors, but I do not need that, I need more storage and I’d like more ram.

At this point, I’m just going to buy a used M1 air. If Apple had 512 and 26 standard on the base air, I’d pickup a new one today.

Do you disagree? What can Apple do to increase Mac sales?

I decided to play through some of the 3d Zelda games as it’s been years and years.

First, I played through majoras mask as I have not played that since I was a kid when I last played it. I didn’t like it then and I absolutely hated it this time, too. I actually just stopped playing once I got to the moon.

After that I played, ocarina of time. I spent countless hours with this game as a kid and I enjoyed playing it again. I how much I remembered from this game. It’s pretty great and I think it holds up today. I played the ship of harkinian version of it.

I played a bit of link between worlds, the 3ds one and it was OK, but I found some of the puzzles to be a bit too confusing and I got a little frustrated with it once I made it to the dark world. I don’t plan to finish that game. I loved link to the past, but this one was just OK to me.

Before I decided to play these games again, I started with twilight princess. I got past the first temple and made it to kakiriko village. I got busy and put it down, I may pick it back up, but I’m in no rush.

The real reason I wanted to write is… Wind Waker! This game is amazing! I’ve played it on GameCube and the HD version. I forgot how much charm this game has. I used to say that OOT was the best, but I’ve completely flipped. I think WindWaker is the best of the Zelda games.

I’m not including botw and totk in this as they are a much different game. I love those games, but they are hard to compare to classic Zelda due to their differences.

I have played most Pokemon games, but I am deciding between Pokemon Sun/Moon/Ultra and Brilliant Diamond.

I have never played either of these games not even their original versions. What do you think?

Additionally, is Sun/Moon good or is the Ultra version better?

I feel like this has been the trend lately.

Company announces something terrible, then they get back lash, then they slightly take a step back and try to pretend to be the good guys.

Like, they knew this would happen all along.

I am DONE with Epic.
