My first panic attack in 5 fucking years and an embarrassing episode at work that I'm sure I'll have to talk to HR about tomorrow or Monday so they can determine if I'm sane or crazy and should be fired...

I am... So tired...

... in the context of the 2010 Equalities Act.

Personal note:

This is a dangerous precedent that is already being used to justify banning trans women from women's bathrooms, and will likely allow male police / security to manhandle women to ascertain their gender. It will also put trans women at a further disadvantage for getting jobs, as if there wasn't enough stigma as is.

Get ready for the genital inspectors, more transpotting (like with that non-trans lady in the Olympics) and an increased amount of abuse of trans people.

This is something which really made me furious. Instead of raising reciprocal tarrifs like Canada and EU did, Starmer decided to increase taxes/cut benefits for the UK citizens and lower them for US companies.

Absolut fucking madness!

Hi, I posted about this yesterday, but people should be aware that the Department of Homeland Security is attempting to dismantle three civil rights offices for allegedly standing in the way of their immigration mission.

If that doesn't concern you on its own, you should know that the funny thing is, only two of the three civil rights offices are actually focused on immigration. The third is just general civil rights. So that means today it's this lady, tomorrow it's you or someone you care about.

You can read more about that here: https://pimento-mori.ghost.io/states-continue-to-push-law-and-policy-that-coincidentally-aids-federal-government-agenda/

Capitol News Illinois and ProPublica detailed cases documented in internal reports and police and court records where staff had beaten, choked, whipped, sexually assaulted and humiliated residents. Those cases included the 2014 beating by staff of a man with intellectual disabilities for failing to pull up his pants. They also included the verbal abuse of a resident with developmental disabilities in 2020, including a threat by staff to break one of his fingers, captured on a recorded 911 line, according to court records, police reports and IDHS watchdog findings.

The reporting also documented a culture of covering up abuse and neglect at the facility, findings later echoed by IDHS’ Office of Inspector General — the watchdog arm that investigates abuse and neglect allegations at state-run facilities and provides agency oversight.

US immigration officers denied entry to a French scientist traveling to Houston after finding phone messages criticizing the Trump administration.

French research minister Philippe Baptiste condemned the decision, stressing the importance of academic freedom.

US authorities reportedly accused the scientist of "hateful and conspiratorial messages" but later dropped charges.

Baptiste has been vocal against Trump and Elon Musk for cutting research funding and invited American scientists to relocate to France.

Newborns at University Medical Center Children’s Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, were exposed to measles after an infected woman gave birth.

Hospital staff are administering immunoglobulin injections to protect infants, though long-term immunity requires vaccination.

Public health officials fear this exposure could worsen the ongoing outbreak, which has spread from Texas and New Mexico into Oklahoma. Texas has reported 259 cases, with one confirmed child death.

Officials continue tracing contacts to contain the virus, which can linger in the air or on surfaces for up to two hours.

Summary

ICE agents arrested Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, a leader in Columbia University's encampment movement, claiming his student visa was revoked.

However, his attorney Amy Greer states he has a green card, not a student visa.

Despite filing a habeas corpus petition, Greer can't locate where Khalil is being held, noting his eight-months-pregnant wife couldn't find him at a New Jersey facility.

The arrest follows Trump's March 4 social media threat to defund universities allowing "illegal protests" and deport "agitators."

Between January 10 and January 12, after being warned that an EV rebate program was running out of funds, Tesla dealerships in Canada managed to claim 8,669 individual iZEV EV rebates, or about $43 million CAD in incentives. That’s a staggering number of sales to log in a single weekend, about 1.5 sales per minute. Let's dig into the numbers.
