The Boogaloo crowd just got handed exactly what they needed to, in their minds, justify basically anything.
They were going to do that anyway, but nevertheless.
This has immense rhetorical power in terms of amping up support. It makes it easier to recruit, justify, pursue goals, etc.
Put in in Hoi4 terms. If 'political capital' can be reasonably simplified into a score, a currency, this is 'bank error in your favor, have a buttload of free points.'
...with which you can more easily pursue a wide variety of actions or policies.
Nah, he's still a fascist and when anyone reads up on Project 2025 is not going to change their mind about him over this.

You're absolutely right. However, they were going to find a reason regardless, since violence was always their end goal.
If it wasn't this idiot it would have been something else: Trump losing the election is any easy one. The "Boogaloo crowd" resorting to violence was inevitable -- the only thing that has changed is we can no longer pretend it's tomorrow's problem.
It is the match being held to the fuse of the powder keg.

I agree, its just that this makes it ludicrously easy for them to do that.
Going for a kill shot on their God Emperor, and just nearly missing him but instead probably giving him the equivalent of a minor flesh wound, live on national television, is obviously going to provoke and embolden them more than anything before.
Was he supposedly hit in the ear? If so, how did nobody behind him get hit? Given the angle they would have had to shoot from to miss everyone else, it seems like they would have had to be down in the crowd below and it should be obvious who did it.
There are now multiple different videos/images of the shooter dead on a roof of a one story building outside of the crowd, of his body being retrieved, of a man saying he pointed the guy out to police before the shooter shot, and that counter sniper fire 'blew his head off'.
The shooting angle seems to be relatively flat, either grazing the top of his right ear or possibly taking a small chunk of it.
At least two people in the crowd behind Trump were hit, one is dead.
From Kyle Kulinsky's clip compilation on Youtube an off duty paramedic had his shirt covered in blood and described doing chest compressions on a man with a head wound including exposed gray matter.
Check his YT for the interview of the guy who saw the shooter on the roof as well.

I'm seeing that the shooter was on a rooftop, not in the crowd. Kinda chaos right now so that info may change.

If he was dead or dropped out like he should and they got a competent human to run, then yeah, I think you could see a red president. None of that is happening though so President Biden will continue to be President.

Literally every single Republican that I know even the left leaning ones and even the ones who are going to be immediately and purposefully harmed by a Trump administration are still voting for Trump.

The right has been very demotivated and nowhere near as enthusiastic as they were in 2016 - 2020. I fully expected a low turn out for conservatives this November.
This is incredible juice in their veins. They were gleefull watching Biden humiliate himself before the entire planet, but this will be in another level. Enough of them may turn out that Trump will be the first republican president to win the popular vote in two decades.
