"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Oh no not your internet points!!!

lol holy shit get over yourself, being downvoted isn't the equivalent to being fucking murdered. You are not a victim, you merely said something people didn't like and they expressed disagreement. Happens to me all the time! If you spent more time talking to real people and less time talking to mindless sycophantic chatbots, maybe you'd be able to cope with push-back.

Instead, you construct stories against people who disagree with you, painting us as bloodthirsty monsters. It's sad.

That's what chatbots do to people. They infantilize their users, to the point that you can't handle disagreement or conflict. You only want a smooth social experience where no one disagrees with you and you can say anything you want and no one can get mad at you. That's why you think chatbots can replace human companionship, because they tell you you're smart and soo special and that all of your ideas are amazing and they would never ever do something as heinous as downvote your wonderful posts. 🙄

btw I didn't even downvote you - why would I bother?

I have used LLM but I have never had an exchange with a chatbot in my life, I expressed a reasonable counterargument in a single comment and nothing more. This thread is an extraordinary example of how a group of outwardly functioning adults can in a very short while develop extreme views against an individual based upon nothing and then be very willing to act against that individual as a mob. This should be written up as a paper, I have archived it and will see what others think.

The word "reasonable" is cooperating with "counterargument" to do some very heavy lifting there. See, as a "counterargument" it is very lame, and "reasonable" is simply the wrong word to apply to cowardly vaguebooking a "superpower of women".
