Jack Ma really thought he was some kinda outlier who could buy the Communist Party and turn it into his preferred liberal capitalist institution.
I still laugh when I think about how fucking slapped down he got when he thought he was going to pull some cringe ‘badass billionaire’ schtick with his stupid leather jacket.

Every capitalist thinks they are the worlds special boy
Honestly goes to show how the system the CCP set in place keeps billionaires stupid and pliable thinking they were western billionaires at which point you can rug pull them and send them off to jail/re-education/or the guillotine if they truly fucked up. It demonstrates that, with a proper state apparatus, that billionaires and millionaires are just a decorative golden goose that can easily be disposed of when they begin to think beyond their purpose as honeypots for western capital at the behest of the state.
