What so you mean win ben? He got arrested, he got life with the possibility of parole in 21 years.
Like sure the cops were a bunch of dipshits who let the guy bleed out, but that's only really a victory in the sense that the murderer succeeded in doing a murder. The murderer was subject to the full force of the law, what more do you want Ben? Say it with your chest.
