I dunno about the source but the article is pretty good.

the unpleasant truth for many "democracy" advocates is that Tibetans today under the Chinese have never been freer than they, their forefathers and ancestors have ever been under all the Dalai Lamas.

Anyone who puts "democracy" in quotes like that is probably a good egg.

Yeah, I ain't so sure on the source, so I archive.is'ed it. Didn't notice that quote, I don't think.

Yeah the site is pretty dodgy looking and I couldn't find out much about it. Originally the article was posted on Medium.
