When you're surprised the "destroy any meaningful leftist opposition in your country via intelligence agencies and swaying the public against them" machine works as intended.
Well in his mind the left is the Democrats, but the entire country just seems to completely forget that they have literally never fought for anything ever, and literally never will
they fight blood and teeth to stop any movement to the left
