In a medical context for sure it means the kirk squirt, but I've seen some chuds on body cams (or war shit, I cant remember) use the term for people running.
I suppose either context might apply to this. I interpreted it as bleeding on first read then subsequently read it the other way after "made it through" stuck out to me.
