personally I hold it against the fans not the show
It can be both. Beau willimon spent time in Ukraine and said it inspired ghorman, so it’s at least partially on the creators own liberalism
sometimes what you read into the text was written into it
I watched a lot of reactions to the massacre. The two most common comparisons people drew were Gaza (genocide) and the maidan false flag snipers specifically. It didn’t take much for people to see empire as Russia. Tragic tbh, truly a show for 🇺🇦 🇵🇸 posters
Superman (2025) stands alone
I don't hold it against the show itself, but I do think it dampens the show's radicalism or at least speaks to why it was never gonna be a real watershed moment.
I think that's simply too high a bar to clear in our hyper fragmented media emvironment. What would that "watershed moment" even look like? It's our job to change the world, not a damn Star War's.
Exactly, and what bothers me is how many otherwise wellmeaning leftists don't get that.
