A video posted to YouTube on Saturday appears to show the whale’s carcass hanging off the bow of the vessel, with the Statue of Liberty and the New York skyline in the background.

Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

If you listen closely, you can hear the ship's captain yelling at the whale, "Hey, I'm fucking sailing here!!"
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of any marine life," the officials said, adding that the Geneva-based MSC Cruises follows all regulations designed to protect whales, such as altering itineraries in certain regions to avoid hitting the animals.
Translation: We don't give a fuck what happened because we do the absolute minimum to abide by laws we lobbied into existence, therefore we will not face any consequences.
Why would the corporate spokesperson say anything else? Why would the corporation do more than the law requires?
Society should improve the laws
So I'm not a biologist or any gist that would know something about this. How would the cruise ship have avoided hitting the whale? Do these things just happen and it just sticks more because the whale was endangered?
That whale had it coming. We tried to warn him.
Stupid sexy whale, just look at what it was wearing!
You just plow through them, there’s not really much a ship that size can do
The good thing is, sea life of any kind will stop being a navigational concern within our lifetimes!
Unfortunately so will the sea. Although it does open new trucking routes. Though they might need to be build a bridge over the Mariana trench.
Whale had it coming - Dolphin is next!

It was actually just a giant chicken disguised as an endangered whale by his cow friend.

I think the whale stops being endangered once it is dead.
ducksandruns sorrynotsorry
Geez that’s dark
what do they do with the whale carcass? like, dispose of it, sure but how?
Flush it down a really big toilet
I'm on the other coast, but the last time a whale carcass was about to land here, they towed it way back out in the ocean and sharks were eating it the entire time they were towing it.
Was it Trump? Fuck, I hope it was Trump.
If he were endangered, he’d find a way to get off the list.
I wish he'd GTFO the planet 🤷🏼♂️
Him and Musk are good friends, why don't we volunteer him to serve as ballast on the next launch.
I’d prefer he go up with Boeing.
