Jumping off of high things is a lot of fun. We had friends who had a cabin on a lake. You could jump from a deck about five stories down to the water. We spent a few afternoons doing that growing up. It turned my fear of heights into a very strong call of the void.

Am I the only one who finds roadside memorials really ghoulish?

It's a weird thing. There is one from a car crash close to where i live. It has been there for like 20 years and it looks all fucked up. Or another one with a full blown gravestone with 3 boys on it who crashed a car when they were 18. That was like 10 years ago, qnd they take like semi car to it. It's still odd to me and i don't know when it's appropriate to just throw it away, if ever.

Just a regular dare? Not even a triple-doggy-dare?

It was a double Darwin dare.

So the theory here is one jumper went into distress, and pulled the other teen who tried to help underwater with him.

Quite tragic deaths then, as it didn't seem like the waters below was that unknown.

Shows the importance of always having something between you and the person drowning. Take off any piece of clothing you might have on you if there isn't anything around you.
