kill bad guys

Are they shooting themselves with it?

[–] micnd90@hexbear.net 39 points 1 year ago

No, usually US Military vets shot themselves in the mouth using M1911 pistol

One of these days I'm gonna write a whole UlyssesT style rant about how much I despise the term "bad guys" in discussion of warfare, how fucking pathetic and infantile it is to be obsessed with having the skills to kill but having the epistemology of an actual toddler. And the fact that it's so widespread feels like a low key and insulting form of propaganda, just encouraging the reader to think like a fucking 4 year old who wants to be a cowboy while simultaneously considering themselves a very serious sheepdog-person.

The bad guys did an oopsie 😡when they knocked down the two towers 🫣 so then the good guys did a heckin democwacy in the middwe east 🥰 but but then the evil bad pwootin went and did an owie on our fwiends isis in sywia 😭 and we had to use depweted uwanium in Ukwaine to stop him 😇

yeah, even the US couldnt be described as the "bad guys". they're the "bad guys and gals", obviously.

Why did they tag the article with Iraq and Afghanistan? Someone writing this article should want less attention to be paid to those two.

When the scoreboard is the K/D ratio including civilians

Silly Tankies the USA won in err...Grenada, Panama, Kuwait and Kosovo all real wars people remember.

i mean, by all metrics, they've won the war against world peace

Vaguely related but does anyone have the image of a laughing Ho Chi Minh superimposed over that US war cemetery/memorial?

[–] micnd90@hexbear.net 31 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I don't think I've ever seen that pic, but this one has the same energy

[–] CloutAtlas@hexbear.net 9 points 1 year ago

Not entirely where I saw it but it was like similar to this with the ghostly smile of Ho Chi Minh Photoshopped in to the image.

[–] Barx@hexbear.net 23 points 1 year ago

Hell yeah they used it to kill the bad guys (your CO) all the time.

All the secret wars we don't hear about until another 40-75 years have passed, I'm assuming.

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

All the US does is drone strike children and traffic guns to terrorists. Don’t think they’ve done much to kill “bad guys” in firefights

The war against school children

[–] infuziSporg@hexbear.net 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

False.

What US Army grunts use to kill the bad guys and end wars is a fragmentation grenade.

[–] Philosophosphorous@hexbear.net 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

long range missile > air strike > artillery > ATGM > tank cannon > APC cannon > tank/APC machine gun > truck/jeep machine gun > handheld machine gun > hand grenade > assault rifle > PDW > pistol > shovel > knife > nearby object > hands

sssssssecretsinfuziSporg is making a joke about fragging your officer

[–] Philosophosphorous@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

ppl need to be creative in fragging ur officer, why expose yourself throwing a grenade when you can turn the whole officers quarters into swiss cheese with a .50 cal machine gun

Is it an M1A1

[–] RyanGosling@hexbear.net 5 points 1 year ago

The only times it’s been used for liberation is when it’s used against the US and allies.
