Trump: You'll never have to worry about who to vote for again, once I'm crowned king! (Allegedly)

[-] meeeeetch@lemmy.world 45 points 1 month ago

Note for Trump supporters, voting is not mandatory in the US, you didn't have to vote this year either.

Maybe he means they’re all going to be raptured. Again

[-] The25002@lemmings.world 29 points 1 month ago

Hey man, the rapture did happen. It's just nobody made the cut.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

That's a joke I've been making for years... the Rapture happened in 1988. The only worthy person was an elderly grandmother living in New Jersey and nobody else noticed.

[-] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Her grandson Dave would have if he'd bothered to call once in a while - Final earthly thought of Ethel Miller

[-] Omega_Man@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Imagine being born after the rapture. Damn.

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 15 points 1 month ago

Oh cool when's the end of the world happening this time?

It's Christians voting for Trump and the ones that have their panties in a wad over trans and LGBTQ+. Remind me again why Democrats don't think taxing the churches is a good idea.

[-] linearchaos@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago

Neither side wants to tax the churches. If you piss off the churches, they'll tell their people who thay should vote for. The church has ultimate control of vast amounts of people in the U.S. conditioned to blindly believe whatever they tell them.

If you piss off the churches, they'll tell their people who they should vote for

So in other words, nothing will be different?

[-] linearchaos@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

True. This already happens to some decent extent, but they're honestly afraid to weaponize it. There are lots of churches out there that aren't as deep right, but it's easy not to tax them and FAFO.

[-] Etterra@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

It's a condemnation of humanity really.

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Thankfully, their power is shrinking daily.

[-] jordanlund@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago

Christians won't have to vote... the rest of us?

It won't be that pleasant.

"Welcome to the end of democracy. We are here to overthrow it completely. We didn’t get all the way there on January 6, but we will endeavor to get rid of it and replace it with this right here.” He held up a cross necklace and continued: “After we burn that swamp to the ground, we will establish the new American republic on its ashes, and our first order of business will be righteous retribution for those who betrayed America.”

Well, since it is THESE assholes that betrayed America, will they be doing that retribution on themselves, then?

[-] Gingerlegs@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Yea, they’ll all be dead. Have you seen the people at his rallies?

[-] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Yeah, no shit.
