IIRC it was from the early days of Stable Diffusion, probably around SD1 or maybe even earlier. Image generation has been around for a long time now it's just that in the past year it's gotten much better and more horrifying and more people have started using it.
To me, one telltale sign that convinces me this might not be AI is how one of the feet are hidden. As an artist, feet scare me.

When things are derivative, you can go "obviously this takes inspiration from that and does very little with it." Every time I see chud AI, it's like halfway between actual copy and paste and derivate. Subtlety is dead, reimagination is dead. Allegory is dead and the art of the spin is used cynically.
I now understand why there is such a high barrier between me and artistic expression. I wish AI didn't lower that barrier.
