We're doing our part to fight back.

Hopefully the Americans are doing theirs as well.

I’m out there protesting in front of my local Tesla. It’s the least I can do, and the most I can do when I don’t have to be working.

This is the way.

Pierre Cléroux, vice-president of research and chief economist at the Business Development Bank of Canada, told The Globe and Mail that if every Canadian household redirected $25 a week from foreign products to Canadian ones, it would boost GDP by 0.7 per cent and create 60,000 jobs.

I really hope this effort long outlasts the tariffs and the Trump administration.

Until I feel that usa can be trusted to be an ally and not an invader, I'm going to continue boycotting usa, tariff or no tariff. Unfortunately, once the trust is broken, it's hard to repair.

I gave up on them after a couple bad experiences. I'll have to give them another try.

Those in power will not bow to pressure from normal people until the guillotines come out, but when business leaders come crying about their profits they will backtrack as Trump and his ilk have done. Make them hurt and don't stop when they cry uncle. - an American

Elbows up tabarnak!

🎵 What’s our life and freedom worth
When a tyrant seeks our earth,
Aiming to subdue our land with greedy hand?
But we’ll stand against his might,
Canada won’t yield this fight,
And we’ll shout across our free and sovereign land:
Go home, Yankee! Yankee, go home!🎵

Why are your and this and red?

[–] Ironfist@sh.itjust.works 2 points 18 hours ago

I used a "code block" to write it so I could put it in different rows, but the code block interpret those words in red as words used in programing, so it highlights them.

In addition to bourbon, Canada is a crucial market for U.S. whiskey and other spirits as well as wine and beer. Bartenders, waitstaff and retail clerks in the U.S. are among those who will face significant layoffs if trade tensions continue, said Mr. Gould.

I'm curious about why US bartenders and waitstaff could be impacted... Is this specific to those who work at distilleries, or is it general to all in the hospitality industry? It's not clear to me.

If the US economy is hurt people do stop going to bars, but it's still a weird thing for this article to include
