I think if I wanted to give an honest ranking based on how absolutely decroded the vibes of a country are, it'd be:
- Israel
- All Baltic states
- Ukraine
- USA
- Singapore
I think we could rewrite this list a couple of times and it would always feel right.

- Japan or Canada, but I’m leaning towards Canada, probably because I’m Canadian and I know about all the shitty shit we’ve done around the world and to our native population in intimate detail.

I honestly don't know how much worse it gets than Israel on that end. But there also are the Baltic states, where it appears that everyone who isn't a communist like our GOAT Robert Kurvitz and the rest of the Disco Elysium team is an out and proud nazi. It's illegal not to be a Nazi in the Baltic states, even! They banned victory day celebrations (Russian source, take it with the slightest pinch of salt).
I think that Japanese history puts it ahead. Beyond what they did in Asia outside their country, they also oppressed Japanese natives, such as the Ainu. Moreover afaik they are even more resistant to owning their own atrocities

I think the USA, then Israel, then the remaining three slots can just be shared by the remainder of the imperial core. Plus it's not actually a ranking because they're all beautiful and unique snowflakes who do their own unspeakable evils in their own unfathomably awful ways.

It's just so been like 200 years since they were a meaningful imperial power, so no one really feels the need to go after them. At some point you gotta have a statute of limitations for inactivity. Otherwise Mongolia would be up there.

these days Spain is mostly a back-channel for siphoning Euro wealth back to the colonies
Spanish workers go make money in Germany and send it home. Latam workers go to Spain to make that German money and send it home. Nature slowly heals.
Same for Portugal. The Carnation Revolution was a huge change and afaik the only time a European colonizer just said “go on, you’re free now” to its colonies. But everything before that was :yikes-1::yikes-3:

I only put UK on my list for historical achievements in evil. Though I think it's worth watching what they're able to make of this direction of turning themselves into a sort of spycraft-depot for the rest of the westoid nations.
