It is about patriotism. It's about how powerful, rich politicians who had everything handed to them uncaringly sent average people to their deaths in an unjust war. Sounds pretty patriotic to me.
Anyone who has to wrap themselves in the flag is compensating for the fact that their politics are distinctly unamerican. MAGAt dipshits cannot tell the signifiers from the thing being signified.
