I think it was pretty clear we only have to attempt to facilitate, not not to effectuate, their return.

"ICE officers continue to feel ill with symptoms such as coughing, difficulty breathing, fever, and achy joints. These symptoms align with bacterial upper respiratory infection...

They're deporting themselves now too? That's efficient.

They could stop this at any time by returning all of them to the US.

"Judge Murphy wrote in a court order that the administration "manufactured chaos" by proposing overseas proceedings, then objecting to their own request."

"The Department of Homeland Security said the situation was "endangering" both agents and detainees, while advocates for immigrants argue that U.S. authorities have the option of returning the men to the United States for resolution."

These traitors are so eager to deport people that they'll even deport themselves to make it happen. That's dedication.

This is divine intervention, like the Christmas Carol, but in Africa. I hope they see how fucking terrible they have been, but that would require introspection (which we know they don't have).

What are the chances this opens some eyes / forces development of empathy? (I asked rhetorically)

For who? Trump administration? Not a chance in hell. Trump supporters? Highly unlikely.

I hope they're stuck there like all those poor people stuck at prison camps around the world from our ridiculous president deporting people with his racist policies.

Someone should take them on a Safari and leave them there

Reality appears to have a strong bias to the left. /s

I believe that graph doesn't show a measure until you click an option. I clicked it and the most common response was 'Fair'.

[–] einkorn@feddit.org 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Interesting. I didn't click anything because I viewed it via archive.

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 3 points 23 hours ago

Right. That's the default position.

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, but that's a biased way to show the ranking. Either it shouldnt show anything or should default to fair.

It's supposed to be outside the scale, like a fuel gauge before you start the car. Which I agree is not great, but I can see what they were going for.
