Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).
Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.
Use content warnings and/or mark as NSFW when appropriate. Most posts with content warnings likely need to be marked NSFW.
Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".
Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
You haven't? Oh my sweet summer child. Welcome to the internet.

(you wouldn't understand)
She goes to another school. You don't know her.
She lives in Canada, I met her over summer break
Had a friend in highschool who did this. Kept up the act the entire time until he graduated. I was two years behind and didn't see him again.
Well, almost 7 years later I'm on hard times and delivering pizza just for some income and, low-n-behold, I see him is name on a delivery. So, I request that I be the one to bring it.
Show up and this chick answers the door. I tell her I'm dude's old friend from HS, so she goes and gets him. We catch up and I make a joke that he finally got a real GF and doesn't need the story about his GF in Canada.
She was the gf from Canada.
They're seeing a girl? I don't understand.
I think just meeting? Why don’t they meet on discord? This is all very confusing
I wouldn’t expect you to understand
Knew it. @everyone
You wouldn't.
I have it under good authority that this is incredibly dangerous because girls have cooties.
someone PLEASE put this into written word that I can copy and paste
Here you go, friend:
Not gonna be active on Discord tonight. I'm meeting a girl (a real one) in half an hour (wouldn't expect a lot of you to understand anyway) so please don't DM me asking me where l am (im with the girl, ok) you'll most likely get aired because ill be with the girl (again l don't expect you to understand) shes actually really interested in me and its not a situation i can pass up for some meaningless Discord degenerates (because ill be meeting a girl, not that you really are going to understand) this is my life now. Meeting women and not wasting my precious time online, l have to move on from such simple things and branch out (you wouldnt understand) @everyone
What in the fuck
He told you you wouldn't understand
A new copy pasta has dropped.
It's pretty old and now I feel old :'(
It can't be that old, I mean Discord is that brand new thing, right? Couple of years old at most?
Logo used since 2021
Okay good, I don't have to come to terms with my mortality today
Initial release May 13, 2015; 10 years ago
😦
The @everyone at the end got me
you'll most likely get aired
Huh?
(you wouldn't understand)
I’m guessing similar to “ghosted”, like a phone call where all you get is dead air.
This totally happened in real life guys!
Well, it's true, I don't understand what the fuck I just read.
