"A good disguise does not reveal the person's height." (--Silvio Micali, cryptographer).

[–] CluckN@lemmy.world 59 points 7 months ago (3 children)

Pshh, why would I take advice on anonymity from a guy whose full name + job you just doxxed?

[–] solrize@lemmy.ml 15 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago)

The quote is from a well known published paper of his, but yeah, good point.

[–] Klear@lemmy.world 13 points 7 months ago

Do you know how tall he is? No? Then shut up!

[–] primal_buddhist@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

You can be a professor of a thing, for example. You don't have to be the thing.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 25 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Surely it’s better to appear to reveal the person’s height and not actually do it. Maybe she’s 130cm and wearing stilts or 210cm and just kneeling.

[–] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 25 points 7 months ago (2 children)

Or maybe it's 3 racoons under a blanket !

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 7 months ago

5 basketball players under a thimble!

No its definitely that, but how tall is she/they?

[–] solrize@lemmy.ml 6 points 7 months ago

Maybe she’s 130cm and wearing stilts

Or the old 3 raccoons in a trench coat, heh.

[–] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 9 points 7 months ago (1 children)

You should also put some rocks in your shoes.

[–] lagoon8622@sh.itjust.works 9 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Or just wake up randomly with your knee sprained so badly it will not bend (for no reason at all) forcing you to alter your gait and walk like a geriatric paraplegic

[–] InnerScientist@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

Did that, how do I get back to my regular walking rhythm now?

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 5 points 7 months ago

Maybe they've a hat or something else on that changes their height

But in this case I don't think you need to go that far

Ironically I expect their business to go up (of the original couple that inspired the meme).

Astronomer was a name known mostly by people dabbling in Data Engineering, and even then not that well. Now the whole world knows about them.

Me , unemployed and single: I have no such weakness.

[–] gndagreborn@lemmy.world 19 points 7 months ago (1 children)

With ticket prices as they are, it would cost me my car and possibly my kidney.

[–] fckreddit@lemmy.ml 7 points 7 months ago

Good point.

[–] doingthestuff@lemy.lol 12 points 7 months ago (1 children)

How do you eat though? Me over here been working the same job for 19 years and I'm not even eligible for unemployment.

[–] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Crime? Best guess is crime.

[–] fckreddit@lemmy.ml 6 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (3 children)

Naah. I live with my parents because I am pathetic that way. Also, I don't really go to concerts. My OG comment was just a joke at the expense of my circumstance.

[–] Two2Tango@lemmy.ca 7 points 7 months ago

Friend don't worry, I have coworkers who've moved back with their parents because rent is crazy right now and it was the best move financially - not pathetic at all. Use the time to work on yourself and try not to let your parents drive you nuts.

You had a chance to let people assume youre cool.

I'm 28 and next month will be the first time I won't be living with family. Use the supports you have and try to save and train up. That's how you get stable these days. Hope you can pull something off man!

Selam alaykum, dear Swiftie

[–] HappySkullsplitter@lemmy.world 14 points 7 months ago

I have never cared enough about a job to do this

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 14 points 7 months ago

It's a g-g-g-g-ghost!

[–] RubberElectrons@lemmy.world 11 points 7 months ago

I'm ok with cheating on work, not ok with cheating on partners.

Fuuucckkk that shit.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 8 points 7 months ago

Love how there are sunglasses on. I think it needs more accessories.

[–] LovableSidekick@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

Turns out Cousin It is a Taylor Swift fan.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 6 points 7 months ago

I'm sure a rainbow balaclava would also work

[–] deranger@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 months ago

It’s a mental health day. The only thing that could cure my depression is live music.

[–] Beebabe@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago

No risk of this at the metalcore show.

[–] axEl7fB5@lemmy.cafe 3 points 7 months ago

Astronomer CEO should've done this
