Folding Ideas is my current favorite for the YouTube content. I'd be interested if there's anyone doing it on his level that broaches even deeper into cult behavior, especially within the current culture.

True Anon is my favorite podcast.

So things of this nature

Esoterica (@TheEsotericaChannel) on YT is definitely more "history of mysticism and the occult" than about modern currents, but I like it. QAA is also good.

[–] GalaxyBrain@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago

Backing Esoterica

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 2 points 5 days ago

Arcanum Luminariam - Don Milo Duquette

That seems solid, adding it. Thanks!

https://archive.org/search?query=lolfieldandlove archive backups of the creator "lolfieldandlove", mainly focuses on programmed to kill and satanic panic coverup stuff

This is very cool, thanks

As far as youtube channels go Flesh Simulator is pretty similar to trueanon and he's already made a couple of videos calling out the nazis who thought he was one of them just because he talks about the CIA doing fucked up shit and the Franklin scandal and shit like that

Probably a couple of others I could recommend but that's the main one

Yeah I'm aware of him, he's great

His Bermuda Triangle video is great

Seems ideal for background listening, very close to what I was looking for as far as the want that spurred this post. Thanks!

Haven't listened in years but QAnon Anonymous was a great podcast breaking down the cult of Q.

[–] TrashGoblin@hexbear.net 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

OAA does tons of non-QAnon conspiracy content now, which is great. They cover some so obscure even I hadn't heard of them, like psychic Bigfoots for Trump.

I have had them on my list of pods for awhile, I'll give them an actual go on tomorrows train ride and lunch break

[–] CliffordBigRedDog@hexbear.net 8 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Theres a yt channel i like who made all kinds of conspiracy trueanonesque videos about like MKultra and the CIA's involvment in Child SA rings

But he recently went on this insane crashout on twitter where he said that China is more Fascist than the US and how Chinese people are the real racists lol

I mean look at this shit

[–] coolusername@hexbear.net 4 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Unfortunately all these would be filtered out

[–] RandallThymes@hexbear.net 2 points 4 days ago

I don’t want to look at or engage with Chinese people or anything related to them online, but see they’re the racists, not me

Lol yeah I've been watching him a bit, I like his stuff. But I was expecting something to drop with him. might be a mania thing or something

[–] Huldra@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

His videos overall seem like above average document summary shit but his social media presence is just so rancid. At best I have to conclude he's just addicted to ragebaiting people.

[–] CliffordBigRedDog@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago

He got in trouble like less than a week ago when he made fun of some dsa lady

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 7 points 5 days ago

you want the quadrant of skeptical atheists who didn't become raging islama- and/or transphobes.

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You say you don't want antisemitism but also that True Anon is your favorite podcast. I'm going to need you to clarify these contradictory positions before I can proceed with the thread.

[–] Speaker@hexbear.net 2 points 4 days ago

Liz's position on the Canaanites is tough but fair.

Guess it's not yt or a doc, but the guy from Ghost Stories for the End of the World was recently on TA and it got me interested in that podcast, it's very good. Unfortunately, most of his episodes are behind a patreon paywall :/ but it really scratches that conspiracy brain itch

Also appreciate that when UFO conspiracies come up, it's from the perspective of treating most disclosures and conspiracies as likely psyops rather than fully buying into them because most information comes from intel communities and military sources (as in he has a really robust mistrust of any information coming from intel agencies, even including Snowden).

I've been listening to ghost stories for a couple years, he's like the exact line between leftism and the occult I'm trying to cultivate

[–] Bane_Killgrind@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Man I'm wondering what the tictac would be about thinking from the psyop perspective

[–] wideopenarms@hexbear.net 3 points 5 days ago (2 children)

You mean the one in a video released by the pentagon? bleh

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago

"we can't trust the government on UFOs, because they lie about them all the time, except when they confirm my preconceived notions about UFOs, then they are telling the 100% truth and would never lie."

A couple of months ago I went back and listened to some early 00s Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell. Art was libertarian but it doesn't really come up on the UFO episodes I listened to. I can't guarantee you would never come across a rant about taxes or gun rights or something in any of his episodes. It's at least something spoopy that isn't explicitly fascist.

Long time TrueAnon guest Aaron Good has a podcast called American Exception. It's specifically about US empire and deep events. They spend a whole lot of time on JFK, but the entire thing is good conspiracy content. Aaron is mostly good but he doesn't have a flare for presentation and he had a Glen Greenwald stan phase and had some issues around masking. You can probably find some conspiracy stuff from Ben Norton as well, he is also a long time guest on TrueAnon and American Exception.

The Dollop has a couple episodes on cults and weird events. The pod starts out very Morning Zoo but Dave slowly commiepills his cohost and audience over time.

[–] Monstertruckenjoyer@hexbear.net 2 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Yeah I've gone through a bunch of the art bell archives, it's fantastic and it adds a lot of context to where we ended up

Going to add American Exception to my pod list right now

[–] coolusername@hexbear.net 4 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

i've never actually seen conspiracy stuff that was just against Jews and I was deep into all 9/11 stuff. In fact, all of them did not want to focus on the who and why (at most they pointed at Project for a New American Century and neocons) but mainly focused on the how and poked holes in the official theory from various perspectives.

[–] BurgerPunk@hexbear.net 7 points 5 days ago

In the 90's and early 00's conspiracy stuff was kind of sanitized of its antisemetic roots. The New World Order stuff Alex Jones was doing at the time was a direct through line from Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the John Birch Society, bit he did it without any overt antisemitism.

In the the early 00's when i first came across Jones, i remeber looking up criticism about him and it was all from like overt white supremacist stormfront types angry he wasn't being antisemtic

Dig slightly past the surface of most of that and you'll find out you were consuming anti semitic prop. It's not obvious at first

Someone recently recommended "The Telepathy Tapes" to me, it's about non verbal autistic people having telepathic links with their caregivers

[–] Aradino@hexbear.net 7 points 5 days ago (2 children)

That's not intended to be fiction. They legitimately claim it's true, and they're deeply ableist

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 1 points 5 days ago

Oh? Someone recommended them to me too, how unfortunate. I was told they're ASD affirming. 😶

[–] Jabril@hexbear.net 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Oh I didn't realize OP was looking for fictional things.

[–] Monstertruckenjoyer@hexbear.net 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Difference between fiction intended to be fiction and fiction created with a motivation and passed off as reality

I'm fine with the first, not exactly what I'm looking for here though.

I'm aware of the telepathy tapes though, my understanding of them aligns with the comment you responded to.

[–] Jabril@hexbear.net 3 points 5 days ago

Ah okay I misunderstood what you were asking
