That's gotta be suuuper fast, like at least 15 images per second.

exposing humans to such a rapid succession of visual stimuly would drive anyone insane

I watch formula 1 at 30 frames a second for hours a week and I can now talk to myself about drivers teams and tires for hours on end

Ew. I hope they don't add sound to it, that would just ruin the whole thing.

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 25 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Especially if there’s speech. “Talkies”?… blech.

[–] subiprime@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 9 months ago (2 children)

that would never take off, dont worry. SMELL, on the other hand...

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 9 points 9 months ago

Oooh, it could be called “Odorama”!

[–] too_high_for_this@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

I wish Smell-O-Vision had taken off. Smelling gunpowder during shootouts, food that's being cooked on-screen, cum and pussy and ass during love scenes, diesel fumes in a subway.

It would probably still be way too expensive and complicated to be feasible but I won't stop dreaming

Jeez, the reminds me of the stickers on the Sam and Max box, proclaiming it to be the "full talkie" edition. Amazing.

[–] LuckingFurker@lemmy.blahaj.zone 22 points 9 months ago

Bah, what was wrong with staring at a static image and imagining? All this fancy technology, it's probably woke

[–] LaserTurboShark69@sh.itjust.works 18 points 9 months ago

Images aren't meant to move! My pastor warned me about this!
